Taylor came up from the garage and saw Zac all smiles. “WHAT!” He screamed in Zac’s ear. He stood there, hands on his hips looking at Zac, “Should I worry about that gleam in your eyes.”

Zac scrunched his face up.

“What?”

“Ike asked me the same thing. Oh well, you know the photo shoot tomorrow?”

“Yeah, is that why you are wearing Ike’s good green sweater?”

“Yeah. Anyway, wouldn’t it be cool for the three of us to dress alike and do our hair the same way they way we used to?”

Taylor thought for a minute. “Yeah, just like old times. That sounds cool. Have you asked Ike?”

“He came up with it.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“He must be thinking about when we were little.”

“Well, with Kayle and all who can blame him?” Asked Zac, suddenly becoming the mature fourteen-year-old that he was.

“I know. Do we all have something that matches?”

“I don’t know. Let’s look.”

“Race ya.”

“GO!” Zac shouted.

They both sped up he stairs and fell into their room giggling. Ike hung his head over the side of the bunk bed frizzy curls hanging all over his face.

“So are we dressing alike?” Ike asked his giggling brothers.

“Yeah.” They both said in unison.

“Cool.” They all went to their closet.

“How about a black tee shirt? I think we all have one of those.” Ike said.

“Yeah. How about jeans?” Added Taylor.

“And gym shoes. You know go for the normal kid routine.”

“Cool!” Ike and Tay said together. They grabbed those items from their closet and put them on. Then stood in from of the mirror.

“Just like old times.” Ike said quietly

“Yeah. We look pretty good. Let’s go show mom.” They ran downstairs and found their parents.

“Oh my! Flashback!” She said smiling.

“What do you think of this for the photo shoot tomorrow?” Both parents grinned.

“Are you gonna try to wear Zac’s shoes again Ike?”

“No. Even if I did they would be too big.”

“Guys, I think that would be great for the shoot.”

Zoë tottled in, “You guys lwook awike. Yopu lwook lwike twiplwets,”

Ike smiled and picked up his three-year-old sister. “Cool, huh?”

“Yeah.” He put her back down and he and his brothers went back to their room.

“Guys, what do we do about the hair?” Ike asked looking at his frizzy curls.

Zac smiled. “I say we all curl our hair.”

Tay gave him a funny look. “Why?”

“So Ike doesn’t have to straighten his hair. Save him the trouble for once. He always does that kinda stuff for us.”

Ike bowed his head. “Nawwww you don’t have to. It’s bad enough that I’m the freak of the family.” He walked into the bathroom and both brothers heard the water turn on.

“I wish Kayle were here.”

“Me too, she would know what to say to make him feel better. He’s not the freak of the family, Tay. We know this. Why doesn’t he. He’s our brother. You know ever since the Kayle thing. I’ve been thinking about when we were younger. I remember all of the mean things I did to Ike that he never said a word about. Like when he got his braces and I called him brace-face. He never flinched. He just smiled and tousled my hair. But now that I think about it he cringed every time I said the name. When I got my braces Jessie made fun of me. She called me metal mouth. I wanted to cry. I felt so self-conscious of that. Ever since then I’ve wanted to apologize to Ike. I just don’t know how to do it.”

“Write him a letter.”

“That sounds like a good idea I think I just might.”

“I think the curling our hair thing sounds like a good idea Zac.”

He started to giggle.

“What?”

“This should really help out rep. ‘Girlie Hanson boys curl their hair for recent photo shoot.’ ”

Taylor laughed. “Oh well.”

Ike got out of the shower and was hunting the blow dryer.

“Don’t. We are gonna curl out hair for you.”

“Zac, Tay, think about it.”

“We have, we want to. So you shut up and let your hair air dry.”

“Fine.”

“Shower is mine!” Tay yelled and entered the bathroom. Ike put on his boxers and a tank top. He got back on his bunk.
