“Shennan? Stefani?” Mr. Launders called from the back door.
Shennan and Isaac looked over at Stefani and Taylor as they broke their kiss. Shennan tossed him an annoyed look. “What?” She asked.
Mr. Launders smiled undaunted by her actions. “Well, don’t you two want your permits?” He asked.
Stefani was running towards the house. “Yes! Of course!”
Shennan kissed Isaac quickly on the cheek before she slowly started towards the house. She walked in and soon got into her father’s car.
“You two did read the book, right?” Mr. Launders asked looking around at them, while Ryan was driving.
“Yes, Daddy.” Stefani said as she looked out her window.
Shennan looked a peeved. “Book?” She squeaked in sarcasm.
Ryan’s head snapped back to look at her, and Shennan smiled as she went to look out her own window.
“You’ve got to be kidding.” He said as he looked at her with wide eyes.
She laughed. “Yes, I’m kidding, Ryan. It was a joke. I’ve read it. Many times.”
Ryan breathed a sigh of relief. “Don’t do that to me!”
Mr. Launders and Stefani laughed at him, while Shennan kept her gaze locked on what lay behind her window.
“So what’s it feel like to have a permit?” Isaac asked as he and Taylor walked over to Shennan and Stefani who were sitting on the hammock.
Stefani shrugged. “We wouldn't know. Neither of us passed.”
“Oh, sorry.” Taylor apologized.
“She's lying.” Shennan replied dismissing it. “We both passed with an A.”
Isaac laughed. “Good.”
“So when do you start practicing for your license?” Taylor asked.
Stefani carefully got out of the hammock. “In a few days.” She answered.
Shennan laughed this time. “She’s afraid to start off right away.”
She shrugged. “Not really. I just want to remember having my permit and keeping it before it gets revoked for careless driving.”
“You’re not a careless driver.” Taylor comforted as he put his arms around her.
“Would you drive with me then?” She asked hopefully.
“Uhh.” Taylor started. “Sure.” He said nervously.
“Stef, don’t scare him like that. You’re not that bad of a driver.” Shennan said smiling as she straightened herself out in the hammock she was just sharing with her sister.
Isaac went to lay with her. “So when are you going to start?"
She shrugged. “Whenever I find a good teacher.” She replied.
Taylor and Stefani started walking away.
“Girls!” Mr. Launders called out.
Shennan groaned loudly. “Not again.” She whined. “What?!” She called out to her father.
“Don’t you want your present?” He asked.
She slowly got off the hammock and Isaac followed. They laced their fingers together as they followed Taylor and Stefani into their house.
“Where is it?” Stefani asked with bright eyes.
“It’s out front.” Mrs. Launders replied with a smile.
Walking outside, Isaac covered Shennan’s eyes, while Taylor covered Stefani’s,
“If I get hurt, I’m seriously going to hurt someone back.” Shennan warned.
Then the hands were removed and she stared at the most gorgeous car that she had ever seen. It was a midnight blue mustang convertible, with a soft yellow interior. She loved it. And by the look on her sister’s face, Stefani loved it too.
Her finger lovingly touched the proud horse-head hood ornament.
“I wanted to give you two the sun and the moon.” Her father said proudly as he looked at the car. “But I figured that this was close enough.”
Mackie and Mykah were in the front seat of it. Mykah was turning the steering wheel as much as he could and Mackie was relaxing in the passenger seat. “C’mon we have places to go.” Mackie called out smiling.
Mykah smiled too. “Yeah, and we need driver’s!” He shouted at Stefani and Shennan.
Everyone laughed at the adorable scene. Shennan hugged Stefani. “Maybe being the sun and the moon has its advantages after all.” She said smiling at the car.
Stefani smiled as well. “I think it has more than just advantages.” She replied.
Shennan and Isaac were going strong as close friends, nothing more, while Taylor and Stefani were getting more serious.
Stefani, Shennan, and Mykah had all stayed home in Tulsa and battled with their nightmares. Sometimes occasionally they would have a nightmare, but not as reoccurring as they once were.
Isaac, Taylor, and Zac were still going strong in music. With Shennan and Stefani supporting them as much as they possible could. And following them anywhere they wanted them to be.
They all realized that they were each connected in their own little way. Mykah and Mackie grew up as best friends, sharing their own twin-like perception.
Stefani’s, Mykah’s, and Shennan’s connection grew stronger with all the time they were spending together. Her and Taylor’s connection grew with strength, love, and respect just as Shennan’s and Isaac's did.
Shennan and Zac established a connection that ended up to be almost like brother and sister. Stefani and Zac’s connection grew to best friends. Ryan and Shennan became almost like brother and sister. While Mykah and Ryan however established an older brother/younger brother relationship, which battled and strained against his and Shennan's older sister/younger brother connection.
Isaac’s, Taylor’s, and Zac’s connection also grew quite stronger, though it didn’t need to. And the Hanson’s and the Launders connection grew a lot too. They were almost like one giant family.
All in all, Shennan was happy she had stayed in America instead of running back to London. And Stefani was glad that everything turned out all right.
Mykah was still curious about their nightmares and actually started to read a little bit into them. He says that when he gets older he’s going to become a professional dream interpreter.
