Shennan looked away quickly. "No we don't." She mumbled.
Isaac sighed. "Yes, we do."
"Don't."
"Do."
"Don't!" She argued.
"Do!" He argued back.
"Don't, don't, don't, don't." Shennan said stubbornly as she shook her head roughly. "We don't." She added once more for emphasis.
Isaac gave her a hard look. "Well, we do need to talk about it. And now would be a lot better than later cause later there might be a lot more people around to hear." He pointed out.
She stared at him a moment. "I don't want to talk about it. To me it never even happened." She said softly.
Taken back, Isaac looked slightly shocked. "It was not my imagination, and I know I didn't just dream it up." He said getting angry. "It did happen. We did kiss." He pointed out.
"I know what we did." She muttered. "I was there too, you know?" Shennan said folding her arms across her chest, getting angry also. "But I'm not going to dwell on it."
He opened his mouth to answer, and she rushed on, "And you shouldn't either."
"Then at least let's talk about it, and not fight about it." Isaac suggested, getting tired of all the fighting she and him had been doing.
Shennan got off the hammock and stared at him. "Why do we have to talk about it? Why does it matter? I'm sure it didn't matter to you!" She said hotly, her cheeks flushing with anger.
Isaac was staring at her, tired of her yelling. So he did the only thing he knew how to shut her up. He kissed her. Flat on her mouth.
He was expecting her to pull away and punch him, but she surprised him and kissed him back.
"Does this mean I don't have to hide in the bathroom anymore?" Stefani asked smiling.
Shennan and Isaac instantly drew apart, Shennan turning crimson from embarrassment. "Maybe." She replied shrugging. "I haven't thought that far ahead yet."
"Do I have to worry about being picked up and slammed into a wall anymore?" Taylor asked Isaac. "Cause that's not exactly the best wake up call I've ever gotten."
Isaac laughed quietly. "I don't know if we should forgive either one of you." He said turning back to Shennan.
She gave a wry weak smile, and looked at the ground. "Well, we could always get revenge." She suggested slyly, looking up at her sister.
Stefani smiled at her. "Just try." She challenged.
Shennan smiled. "We will." She said reassuringly. "By the way, why were you spying on us?" She asked.
"Well, we had to make sure that you two weren't going to kill each other." Taylor said as he wrapped an arm around Stefani's waist.
"Besides," She said smiling again. "There's a wedding that's going to happen shortly."
"Wait a minute!" Shennan and Isaac both said at the same time.
"We haven't even talked about anything. Or even if we like each other yet." Isaac said holding up his hands.
"Or if we're even going to give us a try." She added darkly.
Taylor started laughing. "Not you two."
Shennan sighed in relief immediately. "Whew. Good." She said swiping at her forehead.
"Our parents." Stefani said happily.
Her face fell, "What?" She asked shaking her head as if she didn't hear her sister correctly. Her lips forming a tight frown.
Stefani's smile only widened. "Our parent's are going to get married again." She said excitedly. "Aren't you happy?" She asked.
"Yeah." She said lied softly. She was not happy with this news. She knew that once she got to Tulsa she wasn't going back to London. But now that she really knew that she wasn't going back she was angry and disappointed.
"You okay?' Isaac asked.
She looked up at him, Stefani, and Taylor. "Yeah." She said forcing a small smile. "I think I just want to be alone for a while though." She said quietly.
They all nodded and left her by herself. Saying that if she needed to talk that they were there.
Sitting back down on the hammock, Shennan thought what it would be like to live in Tulsa. "Hmm, Americans. No friends. People with a different accent than Mykah's and mine. Mykah will go to a new school. He wouldn't know anyone there. We hardly know anyone here. I'd finish school soon, and then what would I do?" She asked herself as she counted these on her fingers.
"Now let's see the pro's to this." She said taking a deep breath. "Mykah trusts Stefani and Ryan. He also talks to them. He's made friends with the neighbors. I guess that I'm pretty good friends with them too. Umm, my twin is here. My father seems to like his first wife again." She sighed as she counted these on her fingers too.
"No fair!" She shouted. "It's not fair!"
"What's not fair?" Mykah asked softly climbing down the tree house ladder.
Shennan looked at him and smiled ironically. "Have you been spying on me too?" She asked playfully.
He walked over to her and climbed into the hammock next to her. He nodded. "I heard you weigh the pro's and the con's of staying here." He told her quietly.
She stroked his head lightly. "And what are your opinions about staying here and not going home to London?" She asked.
"I like it here. I feel more safe and calm. Mum didn't die in this house." He replied.
Kissing his forehead softly, Shennan spoke in a hushed tone. "I know. I know. And you have begun to speak more. You've talked to Ryan and Stefani."
"Do you think that Ms. Hurst would mind if I called her mother?" He asked abruptly.
Shennan hugged him tightly to her. "I think she'd be glad if you said anything to her." She replied.
"We'd like to propose a toast." Diana said getting up and holding Walker's hand. "May you two find the love you shared once before, and this time may it last a lifetime." She said smiling.
Everyone clinked their glasses together happily. Except for Shennan. She didn't know if she wanted this change to happen. She didn't know if she would rather live in Tulsa than in London.
Everything would have to change. She'd have to change. And she didn't know if she was ready for any changes.
Her father must've seen her act more quietly than usual because he asked to speak to her when they got back to their house. Shennan could only nod her head to answer him.
After the meal and everyone started chatting she sneaked out of the room. Going outside onto the wooden porch in the backyard she sighed and stared at the moon.
"It's more prettier than the sun." She heard someone say behind her as the door closed behind them.
Isaac sat down next to her.
She shook her head sadly. "You can't compare the sun and the moon. Both are different and should never be compared." She said calmly. "The sun lights the day giving it warmth, while as the moon cools the night and gives it mystery."
He looked at her for a moment then to the moon. "So are we going to talk about what happened today, or are we going to fight about it." He questioned gently.
"Because I don't know about you, but I'm tired f fighting."
Remaining silent for a moment, Shennan tore her eyes away from the moon and looked at him. "If you're talking about us being together, we don't have to fight." She started.
Isaac smiled at her, and she turned away from him.
"It wouldn't work." She said softly.
Taking in a sharp breath, he asked, "Why? Why couldn't we work?"
"Because Stef told me you guys are going on tour soon. You will be away for a long time. And who's to say you won't meet some one out there."
He didn't say anything. Waiting for a good reason.
Shennan continued on her list, "We always fight each other." She pointed out. "And I don't think I want to take any of your attention or focus off of your music." She stood up.
"Tay and Stef are making it work." Isaac replied sharply.
She sighed quietly. "I just told you not to compare the sun and the moon."
Isaac was about to reply again when Shennan's father stepped outside.
"May I have a moment or two alone with my daughter?" He asked politely.
Standing up, Isaac nodded and went back inside his house.
Shennan sighed again. "Yes, Father?" She asked sitting back down.
Mr. Launders sat next to her. "What's wrong?" He asked gently and kindly.
"I don't want to have to change to live here." She stated.
"You've already changed." Mr. Launders replied smiling.
Shennan looked at him quickly. "I have not!" She said hotly.
Mr. Launders chuckled. "You have changed. So has Mykah. He has accepted his change and you have yet to. Why is that?" He asked.
"I have not changed!" She said crossing her arms in front of her chest stubbornly.
"You have too. You have accepted the fact that you have a sister, whom I know you love dearly. You have neighbors, whom like you and you like back. And you like Isaac but not in the way that everyone thinks. Or so, you try to convince yourself that you don't." Mr. Launders said putting his arm around his daughter's shoulders.
"You have changed. A lot. You just haven't realized it yet. You're too stubborn to." He said laughing.
Shennan just shrugged slightly. "I'll think about it." She said getting up.
"Would you like me to get someone so that you will have company?" He asked as he also stood.
She shook her head. "No. It's a nice night. I think I'm going to go make a wish." She said smiling slightly.
Mr. Launders looked at her strangely and nodded. "Don't be out late." He said before he walked back inside.
Shennan started her way towards the park. She was determined to force herself to make a wish tonight. And she didn't care if it came true or not...
