'Saving Grace'

Taylor walked the length of the carpet, before looking out the side window; he laughed mirthlessly before turning around. "She was there. Big as life, and having as much fun as she possibly could."
The knowledge that she could move on so well without him kind of stung. Badly. "She was smiling and laughing and couldn't seem to stop touching everyone there."
Groaning in frustration, and dragging his hand through his hair, Taylor walked the carpet again. Watching as his loafer feet tread over the dark red fabric. "And of course, she's so completely gorgeous now, that everyone has a hard time keeping their hands off her as well!"
His pacing was making him dizzy. Dramatically, he dropped himself down in the roller chair. "What am I going to do?"
Sighing, Isaac looked up from his book and glared at his brother. "First off, Grace isn't any of your concern anymore. You played her, and now it's over. Get on with your life." He smirked, "Just like she was able to."
At his brother's returning glare, Isaac grinned. "Face it, Tay. Some girls can pick up their lives, and not have you in it to survive."
He tossed the small pillow he was laying on at him. "I know people can live without me, Ike! I don't expect people's lives to stop or be put on hold just because I'm not there!"
Leaning his head back he thought of last night's un-joyous revelations, then lifted his head and smiled sweetly at his brother. "Saw Emma there too, by the way, Ike."
Watching intently, he noticed the little jolt that comment sent through him before he shrugged it off. "That's over too. She played a good game and won." He shrugged again and went back to his book, but Taylor could tell his eyes weren't focusing on the typed words.
Nodding in agreement with him, Taylor couldn't quite keep the knowing smile from his face. "I actually saw a lot of Emma. More than Grace even."
Isaac's eyes snapped up instantly, "What do you mean? You tried hitting on her, or was she hitting on you?"
Gloating, Taylor didn't answer him right away, and laughed when Isaac jumped from his bed and loomed over him threateningly. Grabbing the front of his shirt he lifted him easily off the chair, "Spill it, Tay!"
It was inspiration enough to shout, "She's a stripper!"
Immediately, he was dropped back down and his head on the side of the chair, "Ow!" Rubbing the now sore spot, he glared at his brother. "What was it you said about Grace and me, Ike? You played her, now it's over, and she's gotten on with her life!"
Refusing to look at him Isaac stared at the wall, his hands clenching tightly at his sides. "Em wasn't like what you were doing to Grace."
The silent defensive remark drove Taylor over, "The hell it was! You tried playing Emma because you wanted to play the best! And she's the best!" He sneered, "And you couldn't beat her! So you got your pride and ego trampled on when she didn't return your feelings!"
Isaac swung around, eyes blazing. "She loved me, Tay!" He screamed hatefully. "She did, I saw it in her every time we were together!" He moved towards him, "You're just upset because now you've found out Grace can live without the Great Taylor Hanson in her life!"
Taylor lunged at him, knocking him to the ground and pinning him. "I loved her!" He shouted back, "I loved her but wanted so much to be as cool as you were, before I realized you aren't, Ike!"
Slamming him against the carpeted floor, Taylor stood up and raked his hair back. "Wanted to be all tough and cool like my older bro, fool that I was." He explained angrily as he started to pace back to the window. "Be the love 'em and leave 'em type. Never letting any girl have their hooks in me or anything. Envy of all guys, and the object of lust of every girl."
Looking down at his brother, Taylor sniffed in disgust and rolled his eyes. "But after Grace I knew it wasn't what I wanted. I was torn between her and your image. And damn me, but your image won out."
Pulling himself up, Isaac dusted off his clothes and gently probed the egg-sized knot on the back of his head. Shaking it off, he looked on his younger brother. "So what do you plan to do about it now?"
Taylor shrugged, "Don't know. I'd like to try and make it up to her. Get back on her good side and maybe she'll give me another chance." He gave a small smile, "Maybe even get the chance to say sorry and tell her I love her."
The door burst open before Isaac could respond and Zac hurled himself from the doorway towards Taylor.
Screaming all the way, "You ass! You complete and total ass!" His fists started swinging next. Connecting with flesh with sickening 'thuds' that left Taylor winded for a second before he started trying to push him off and fight back.
Isaac watched on before the shock wore off, and then he tried separating them. Landing and receiving a few blows himself.
It had taken a while before the two were on either side of him. "What the hell is going on, Zac?" He questioned sharply, his eyes narrowing on the already changing color of his cheek.
Zac shot daggers at Taylor. "He took her! When he knew I cared about her and wanted to be with her! Then he used her, got tired of her, and then tossed her! And now he wants her back!"
Turning his head to see the damage on Taylor, he silently cheered Zac for landing the lucky punch Taylor's mouth, splitting his bottom lip and making it swell. "Well?" He asked dryly.
Taylor shook his head; "He didn't make a move on her for weeks! I thought he was over it and onto someone else!"
It was a weak defense, and they all knew it, and it only angered Zac more. Causing Isaac to hold him back even more. "Maybe you both should go see Grace and see how she feels about either of you before you kill each other."
He shot them both dark looks, "Okay?"
Taylor grinned arrogantly, "Fine. But how's Zac gonna get in the club, Ike? He's not old enough yet!"
Isaac pushed him back some, "I'll get him in if I have to. It's not much of a problem if Grace and Emma is working there."
Nodding his thanks to Isaac, Zac backed out of the room but not before throwing Taylor another scowl.
Isaac sat back down on his bed while Taylor wiped at his lip. He shook his head; this was getting far too out of hand.
