Sabrina made it out of the house she was glad to be out but also she wished that she was a stay at home mom. Why aren’t I? she wondered as she drove away from the house.
When she was young she had thought that she wanted to teach. But now as she got older she didn’t want to be away from her kids and husband and because she taught she had to be away from her husband. She sighed as she pulled into the high school parking lot. She grabbed her bag of books and papers and began to go inside the school.
“Hey, Mrs. Hanson.”
“Hi, Simon.” She said with a smile as she passed the football player. She unlocked her room and entered. She put her things down and began to get ready for the day.
“Hey, Sabrina.”
Sabrina looked up, it was the teacher from next door which Sabrina and become friends with and she and her husband had often come over to her house when Isaac was home and they went out and did couple things.
“Hey, Colleen.”
“When does Isaac get home?”
“The end of the week, thank goodness.”
Colleen smiled. “Do you think he would want to go to a movie with Adam and me?”
“I don’t know, he probably would. I’ll ask him when he calls tonight.”
“Girl, why do you even bother to work?”
“I don’t know.”
“Doesn’t he make good money?”
“Very good money…”
“You probably should quit and go with him. You miss him a lot.”
“I know but I’m not sure if I should home-school the children or not. I mean they would only have each other as playmates.”
“But their daddy would be around. That’s almost more important sometimes. I don’t know where Johnny would be without his father.”
“I’ve wondered about that. I don’t know I’ve been really thinking about quitting actually.”
“I would if I were you. I’d want to be with my husband.”
“I do…but I also wonder if he likes it this way. He gets to be dad and husband but then he can leave and be Isaac not the father not the husband but the rock star that is care free and with his bachelor brothers.”
“Well, talk to him about it. But the way he talks about you I’m willing to bet that he would rather you be with him. I mean come on your pregnant again I think he likes your company.”
“True, true.” Sabrina smiled.
“Well, you ask Isaac about this weekend. Catch you at lunch.”
“Kay, Colleen.”
Colleen ducked out of the doorway leaving Sabrina with a lot to think about. The day passed quickly and not much happened. Which was nice. Sabrina liked calm days.
She left late. A student needed to take a test so she had stayed after until the student had finished. The young girl handed the paper back to Sabrina.
“Mrs. Hanson…are you related to the Hanson brothers?”
Sabrina smiled. This young girl often wrote papers about Hanson. She was waiting for this question.
“What do you think?”
“Well, I know your not one of their sisters. I don’t know.” She blushed. “Sorry.”
“Hey Tammy, I’ll tell you a secret.”
“Okay…”
“What is Isaac Hanson’s wife’s name.”
“Oh that’s easy, Sabrina…wait.”
Sabrina just smiled.
“Oh god. You’re kidding me.”
“Nope. You promise not to tell anyone?”
“I promise. Wow I can’t believe this. Wow..Wow…” she suddenly blushed “He doesn’t help grade papers does he?”
“Sometimes, why?”
“Well, I’ve tended to write their lyrics in the..’
“Margins, yes, he thought that was cute.”
“Oh god, oh god.”
“Take it easy…”
“Okay thank you, you have no idea how this made my day.”
“It’s okay. Just remember, don’t tell anyone.”
“I won’t, I promise.” She picked up her backpack. “See you tomorrow.”
"Bye Tammy.” Sabrina shook her head and smiled.
