Chapter Thirteen

“A girl who just broke up with her boy friend, and denies that she needs him.” She suggested.

“Ok... ” Carrie said slowly. The seven teens sat there thinking. All the sudden, a thought popped in Lindsay’s head.

“Check this out.” She said putting her notebook on the table.

It’s hard to wake up

Knowing I won’t see your face

I just lie in my bed

Feeling out of place

“Ok, that’s a good start. Do you have a tune?” Isaac asked.

“Nope... Just the words...”

“Wa-wait!!” Shannon said as she finished writing something on her pad of paper. “Here. The chorus.”

Your little smile

And you, pale blue eyes

I miss you baby

But I know if I try,

I try, I really try

I’ll make it through

I don’t really need you

“Ohmigosh!!!” Lindsay squealed. “My first song! Almost!!”

They all laughed at her, and she blushed slightly. “Can’t I get excited?” She sighed. “Sheesh.”

That night, Shannon, Carrie and Rachel slept over at Lindsay’s house. Each having their own room.

Lindsay couldn’t sleep so she quietly sneaked out of her room to the down stairs den. She heard the TV on. Ohmigosh!! An intruder! Why would they turn on the TV! Where’s my umbrella?!?!

Slowly, Lindsay opened the door to the den to see Shannon laughing at something on the TV.

“Ohmigod Shannon!! You scared me!” Lindsay said putting down her umbrella and sitting down next to Shann.

“Sorry... How?” She asked curiously.

“I came down here to watch TV or get on the net, cause I couldn’t sleep, and you were here. And I thought you were sleeping because your door was shut.”

“Oh...” Shannon said throwing a cheet-o in her mouth. “Want one?” She said offering the bag to Lindsay.

“Sure why not?” She replied taking the bag.

The next morning Rachel and Carrie entered the kitchen to see a funny site. Lindsay and Shannon trying to cook breakfast.

“What smells interesting?” Rachel said sitting down at the island.

“Chocolate Chip pancakes. Mmmm!!” Shannon said flipping a pancake. “But, we do have regular.”

“Good. I hate chocolate!” Carrie said very sarcastically.

All the girls started laughing. “Catch, Rach!” Lindsay said flipping a pancake in the air to Rachel’s plate. And missing by an inch. “Oops?”

An hour later, the girls were still eating. Sort of when they heard the phone ring.

“Hello?” Lindsay said into the phone. “Oh hey!! No, what's up?? Ok. No. We won’t be ready!! C’mon!! Nooo!! Ike!! Ike? Hello?” Lindsay sighed as she hung up.

“What’d he say?” Shannon asked right away, hearing Isaac’s name.

“Hi, Am I bugging you? Ok, meet us at two sharp. You better be! No, no later! Bye. Click. He didn’t say click though.” Lindsay said smiling. She looked up at the clock. It said one-forty-five.

“Oh god!!” Carrie said standing up putting her hand on her forehead. “We better get ready!!!!”

“Where are they?” Taylor asked waling back and forth looking at his watch. Two-o'three. “They were supposed to be here three minutes ago!!”

“Dude, chill... Its only three minutes!” Isaac said laughing lightly.

Taylor sighed. “All right.”

Ten minutes later, they showed up. All of them were wearing jean shorts that were about five inches above their knee, and a different colored T-shirt.

“You’re late!” Taylor said looking at the girls.

“Sorry, we just wanted to look pretty for you.” Lindsay said putting her arms around his neck and giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

“Forgiven.” He said smiling.

“Ok, so why did you guys want us here?” Lindsay said backing up.

“Yeah... I had to do so much stuff before we left to get ready. This better be good.” Rachel said.

“And it better not be a big surprise. I don’t like surprise’s that much.” Carrie chimed in.

“I’m the odd one.” Shannon said quietly.

Everyone started to laugh.

Shannon blushed slightly. “What’d I do?” She asked.

“Nothing, Shann. Nothing.” He said giving her a hug. He backed away and said, “And now for the day full of surprise’s.”

The three boys smiled from ear-to- ear.
