Chapter Four

Justice lay in her bed, she wanted to go to sleep but couldn’t. Then she placed her hands on her stomach it was slightly swollen. She sighed as a knock landed on her door.

She didn’t answer, but it kept knocking. “Come in.” She said a little annoyed.

Zac peeked his head in, he smiled as he entered the room, and then he closed the door behind him. “Hey.” He said as he approached her.

“Hi.” Justice smiled slightly.

“How’d you doctor’s appointment go?” He asked as he sat down on her bed.

“It went fine, but you can’t tell Emerald that.” Justice sighed.

Zac laughed, “Yeah, I know. She’s telling everyone how you’re in such good health. Everyone’s out there wondering why you’ve spent most of the day in here. Taylor’s over all worried, he’s driving everyone insane too.”

Justice smiled, “He can do that to people.” She commented.

“So what’s wrong?” He asked as he looked out the window then back at her.

“I’m just thinking, and I haven’t been feeling well lately. That’s it.”

He nodded his head, “Lack of sleep? Maybe cause in the past few weeks you haven’t been sleeping hardly at all. Cause you would be the last person to go to sleep, and I’d wake up having to go to the bathroom or something, see you up and then you’d go to sleep and about two hours later you’d be up again.”

He was quiet for a moment, and Justice didn’t say anything. “Are you worried about something cause sometimes I’d walk by the bathroom and hear you in there from what it sounds like puking your guts up.”

She still didn’t reply or answer. “Justice, I’d say something’s wrong.” He told her. “Emerald knows it, Ike knows it, and we’re about to kill Taylor cause that’s all he talks about when you’re not in the room, and I know it. Problem is we don’t know what’s wrong.” Zac just looked at her.

Justice was silent for a while. “Zac, I know you know what it is. You're not stupid. Just think about it, think about what you said.”

Zac thought about what she just said. “No, I don’t." He said slowly. "Unless... you can’t be....” He started.

Justice looked at him, “Zac, at this rate anything is possible.”

“You’re not pregnant are you?” He asked her with wide eyes.

“I mean as far as we know of you haven’t been around any other guy besides my brothers...” Zac said, thinking out loud.

Justice sighed loudly, and she slowly nodded.

Zac’s expressions faded, “Taylor, right?”

She closed her eyes and nodded again.

“So much for nothing being wrong at the doctor’s. You call that nothing, how can we not be concerned with it? How many month’s?”

“About seven weeks.” She answered.

He nodded, “You're going to have to tell them soon. I suggest, very soon. Taylor first,” Zac sighed.

“And Emerald last and when Tay’s not home, cause she’ll kill him. You know it and I know it.” He said before he got up and headed for the door.

“Zac?” Justice asked as he put his hand on the knob, he looked at her, “Thanks, it means a lot, and I know you won’t tell them. And I’m not sorry about it either, I love it already.”

Zac smiled weakly at her, “Congrats then, I’m happy for you.”

There was silence, “And Tay.”

Zac stayed in the room a few more minutes, thinking, then he looked at Justice, “That’s why you didn’t tell Emerald first, cause you knew what she would do.”

Justice nodded her head slowly; Zac sighed and left the room, walking into his and climbing into bed.

“Soo what’s wrong?” Taylor asked.

Zac glared at his brother; “I’ll let her tell you. You’ll find out, very soon.”

After that Zac said nothing more about it to anyone.

Taylor sat up in his bed, “Hey, Ike, Zac." Zac rolled over and looked at his brother.

“What, Tay?” Ike said with thickness in his voice.

“I’m thinking of asking Justice to marry me.” Taylor smiled, “I want her to marry me.”

“Taylor, you're only nineteen.” Ike spoke up, “And she’s what, eighteen?”

Zac silently sighed in relief, and thanked God.

“Age doesn’t matter as long as you love them....” Tay smiled, “I’m willing to take responsibility for her too.”

“I think you should.” Zac said before he rolled over and tried to go to sleep.

“Thanks, Zac.”

“If you want go ahead, but I still think you’re too young.” Ike said as he rolled over.

“I just wanted to know what you thought about it.” Taylor said as he closed his eyes.
