'Angel Charm'

"Let's take it from the top." Mackenzie announced loudly, his voice booming in the small studio.
Zoë groaned and tossed him an irritated look. Between clenched teeth started counting off as her drumsticks banged together.
After already two and a half-hours in the studio, the girls were feeling the strain of having to do the re-takes. Annoyance was creeping up on all three, yet Charm was the one who kept them all seated and satiated.
Randy looked questioningly at Taylor and Isaac while Zac and Mackenzie kept their heads bent over the soundboard.
Taylor shook his head, knowing what she was thinking and asking without saying anything. He also turned and looked at Isaac.
Refusing to look at him for a moment or two, Isaac slowly started to turn and look at him. A look of defeat was on his face, realizing that the girls were not quite ready to work in the studio for too long.

-

"They're not ready for it." Taylor stated once he closed the doors to the study room.
Isaac didn't even look up from his books. "We were the same when we were young. In fact they are younger than we were. Give them a break, they can handle it if they want to. Let them decide."
His whole argument was half-thought and strung together, spoken in distraction.
Taylor stared at him for a while. "So you're going to let them continue on, even though they really shouldn't?"
Sitting back, and rubbing his eyes, Isaac replied, "I think," He started. "We should talk with Randy, Zac, and Mackenzie. Not to mention the girls. We need input from them all to get this through fairly and logically."
Crossing his arms Taylor announced, "I just believe they're too young for this, Ike." He said quietly.
Isaac stared back at him, "Or do you really believe that they should try and have a better childhood than ours?" He questioned raising a curious eyebrow.
Defense was written in all of Taylor's body language. "Not better necessarily." He answered hastily. "Just different."
"We had a great childhood, Tay." Isaac said gently. "We chose what we wanted in life, like mom and dad allowed us to." He gave him a sympathetic, "Just like I'm going to do the same for them."
Knowing he had no point to argue anymore, Taylor nodded and accepted the final decision. "Okay, Ike." He said quietly. "Okay."
Nodding as well, Isaac leaned back over his books. Thoughts clouding his mind, not allowing him to focus on his work. Sighing he closed the heavy book, and leaned back once again in his chair. His eyes caught his brothers questioning ones. "Medical books." He responded.
"What are you doing with those?" Taylor asked worriedly. "Someone sick?"
He shook his head fervently. "No, no one's sick. I'm just trying to read up and understand what D and her mother had."
A pained look crossed his face, "Why Ike?"
It was the same question that kept him up most nights, and from focusing on almost everything in his days. "I have to know, and I have to see if I can prevent it from happening to Charm and Angel." He whispered hoarsely.
Brown eyes met blue again. "I can't lose them too, Tay." He confessed brokenly as large tears collected in the corners of his eyes.
It was in an instant that Taylor had crossed the room Isaac had stood up.
Clasping his brother in a hug, Taylor fought back the tears himself. A question that burned brightly in his mind was finally answered. He had to make his announcement soon.
"You'll live a very long and happy life with those two girls." He stated in a choked voice. "I'll make you if I have to."
A watery laugh escaped from them both. But still, heaviness was around them, one they couldn't just shake off, or hide under the rug. Something was brewing above them, and was about to break.
