"So are you going to call her?" Isaac asked as he sat across from Zac in the library.
Refusing to even lift his eyes from the book in his hands, Zac answered, "Nah, I'm going to use my psychic abilities and get in touch with her that way like we've been doing lately."
Isaac grinned, "If you can do that, how come I get large phone bills for the long distance calls to Michigan?"
Zac shrugged, "Because Taylor calls an adult hotline that's based out of there?"
"That could be true," Isaac conceded. "But unless they are based out of Linz's house, I'm doubting it."
He shrugged again, "Hey, I have no idea what she or what all of her family does when I'm not there."
Patiently Isaac waited for a real answer, "You know you wanna talk to her and get this thing over with." He replied knowingly.
Zac sighed in resignation, "Man," he groaned frustrated, "Am I really that transparent, Ike?"
"Like a jellyfish, little brother." He replied, grinning again,
Groaning again, Zac shoved the book down into the couch upholstery. "I think what I'm going to do is let myself cool off for a time, then who knows."
Isaac was silent for a moment, before he commented thoughtfully, "I wouldn't wait too long, Zac, cause she may feel as if it's not important to you, and not your number one priority."
He dropped his head into his hands, his elbows resting on his knees. "Ike, I'm so damned confused over this. Over her." He confessed quietly, "Is it suppose to be this way?" He asked, spreading his fingers to peak out at his older brother.
Isaac gave him a gentle smile; "It's frustrating at times, yes." He said nodding, "But there are so many times, Zac, when just about anything is worth it. If it works, she'll always be there. You'll be happy more than sad or angry, just cause she is there."
Zac grinned, "Sounds like heaven, Ike."
Standing up, Isaac patted his shoulder and started walking for the door. "It is, Zac. It truly is."
Sitting for a moment in the silence, Zac kept his eyes on the door. He thought hard on his feelings for Linz and knew that if what he had with her was probably just an ounce compared to what Ike had had with Charm. Smiling sadly he stood and started walking out as well, he needed to make a phone call.
Isaac stood out by the stone steps and took in a deep breath. Dahven had planted roses and jasmine in and around the whole backyard so that every time a nice breeze occurred a strong precious scent blew right into the house.
Still breathing in deeply he sat down upon the cold rock and looked around him. He knew if he didn't have Charm and Angel in his life, he would have given up so long ago. A painful memory exploded in his mind when he remembered, he almost did.
Guilt still plagued him over the fact he nearly let himself die of a broken heart. Sighing quietly, he let the quiet and the sweet scents take him away to a time when he and Dahven were still newly weds and Angel was only a tiny bulge in her belly. Smiling contentedly, he kept the vision and memories in his head.
He knew that it might be wrong to but he still needed memories of her to hold on to.
