Chapter 12

Dahven woke up the next morning ready for a full day’s work ahead of her. She just needed to attend to Charisma and get everyone else ready for her plan to take action.
She had to get Essence and Arie packed quickly. Essence needed the most help since she was extremely pregnant. With only about a month to go before her child was due. Arie was getting unsure about the move. Constantly asking if she would be all right with 'Christian Courts' on her hands. After re-assuring him about twenty times she had him taken to the airport by Herb their butler and now temporary chauffeur.
Sighing she went in search of the phone. She quickly dialed a few numbers and arranging flight tickets made out to people that she needed at the house for about a week or two. Quickly after that task was done she went in search of Randy.
And without surprise when she found Randy she found Taylor too. They were talking quietly in the library, sitting closely next to each other on a plush leather love seat.
Smiling her apology Dahven said, “We do have some business to discuss.” She said softly as she shifted her hold on Charisma just slightly. Careful not to jostle her too much.
Randy stood up slowly. She nodded her head, “What about?” She questioned politely with a newfound respect for Dahven.
She admired how she stood her ground with her father, gave Arie the job at her firm to provide for his upcoming family, and making sure that she was doing her job as manager, then on top of that taking Charisma as caring for her too.
“You need to get your recording finished.” Dahven started out.
“I’m not leaving here without you.” Randy stated firmly.
“I have a load of work to do here. You have a load of work to do in California.” Dahven pointed out.
Randy shook her head. “I love music and I enjoy recording, but I will not leave here without you.” She said just as stubbornly as Dahven would have.
Dahven smiled brightly at her. Then she nodded. Quickly she looked at Taylor. “Do you, Zac, and Isaac have free time for about a week or so?” She questioned as a whole plan laid out in her mind.
Taylor was a bit confused by her question but none the less answered it. “Yeah. We’re on break for about a month. Why?”
Ignoring his question as if she never heard it, Dahven jus nodded her head and continued to lay out the plan in her mind. It was sharp, vivid, and so well laid out that it just had to work.
Finally after a few silent moments Dahven started for the door. “Have Isaac and Zac be here in about two hours. I need them here. You two also.” She added as she walked out.
In her bedroom Dahven smiled happily at Charisma. “You know since we both can go by Charm and Dahven I’m going to have to come up with another nickname for you.” She whispered as she watched the little baby flutter her eyelids closed.
She grinned when she touched the bright blond hair. “Since you have hair of gold like any angel would, I will call you Angel. My angel. Since you saved me from not having love or not being able to give love.” She said softly as tears silently slid down her cheeks.
Waiting as patiently as she could, Dahven waited for Herb to finally pull in the limousine at any moment. Waiting for her guests that she so desperately needed help from at this moment.
When Herb did pull up she smiled as Kim, Amanda, and Lindsay ran out of the limousine with giant smiles on their faces.
“Could it be true?” Kim asked breathlessly as her eyes danced with excitement.
Dahven simply nodded her head. “Yes, it's all true. I need you three to sing back up for Randy. Only she doesn’t know that you are here. So Herb will take you around back through the servants quarters and to the studio downstairs. Stay there. Randy and a few of our friends will be down in a few short moments.”
Lindsay laughed loudly. “You know I’m kinda curious about your friends.”
Smiling, Dahven replied; “I’m positive that you will be speechless by them.” She said before she pushed them towards Herb.
After they were gone Dahven went and got Charisma. Making sure that she was in a fresh diaper and had been fed her milk and burped she went in search of Isaac, Taylor, Zac, and Randy.
Finding them in the library she ushered them out saying that she had to show them something. “This has been here for a while and I remembered it a few days ago. It will help Randy and I out a whole bunch. Not to mention the help that you three will be giving if you are up for the part.” She said as she opened the door to the recording studio that was decked out in expensive equipment. Top of the line marketing supplies that smelled new and fresh. All four stared at the room in shock and amazement.
Then Lindsay, Kim, and Amanda shot out from behind one of the closed doors. They stared at Isaac, Zac, Taylor, and Randy in complete shock and awe.
Dahven laughed as she switched Charisma from one arm to the other. “Okay. Meet the new staff members. Isaac, Taylor, and Zac I need you controlling all the sounds and the editing. Randy of course you will be singing. Only you are going to get a whole new song out. This will be your bonus track. Linz, Kim, Amanda, I need you three as back up singers for Randy for this song. And don’t say you can’t ‘cause I’ve heard you all sing.” She said as Amanda opened her mouth to protest.
“Now I have some legal work and I have to take care of Angel. So this little arrangement will be made for about two weeks at the most. All of you will stay here. You three, I’ve already taken the liberty of asking your parents if you could stay that long here in 'Christian Courts.'” She said as Zac and Isaac started to open their mouths.
“And?” Taylor asked as all of this sunk in.
“Your father will be dropping your bags off shortly. Lindsay, Kim, Amanda, I know that you three will be staying for the two weeks. And Randy, I’ve already made this okay with 'Two Part Harmony.' They are ecstatic and can’t wait to hear the new song.” Dahven said as she looked around the large group.
“Any questions?” She asked when no one moved.
A chorus of ‘No’s’ and shaking of heads went through out the group.
“Okay then, get started. I’ll be down in a few minutes to check things out and make sure that everything is okay. And….” She started as she reached the stairs. “Randy must write this song on her own. If any of you help her you won't get any recognition for it.” She said.
After they all nodded their heads in understanding Dahven went up stairs with Charisma happily gurgling on her left hip. “This is going to be two weeks that no one is going to forget.” She said quietly to Charisma.
She laughed when Charisma just gurgled more and smiled. “Sweet Angel.” She said as she kissed her forehead.
After three days of hard work on everyone's part, Randy had just finished writing her bonus track. Many debates went with that song though. The chorus, the meaning, the background music, the back up parts, everything was debated to make sure that that song was great and in the end with the finishing touches by Isaac, Taylor, and Zac it was.
Randy was beaming with happiness as she kept reading the song over and over. Then humming it over and over. Linz, Kim, and Amanda loved recording with Randy but decided that singing, as a profession was just not for them. They said that it was too strenuous, making Randy, Isaac, Taylor, and Zac laugh.
Dahven kept up with Angel. Making sure that she was clean and fed and protected and happy. But she was saddened by the fact that she saw Isaac everyday for most of the day and she couldn't hold him. She thought she'd catch him staring at her, but when she looked at him he just looked away and started talking with Amanda or Kim.
Linz was doing all that she could with Zac. Be it climbing the large oaks or willow trees in the back yard or rollerblading to the mall. Everywhere she could go with Zac she went. And Zac seemed to enjoy her company.
News came that Essence wasn't feeling well and Arie had to take a few days off work but assured Dahven that he was going back soon and that he was actually enjoying and getting the hang of running the firm. He was even talking about going to college for his law degree.
Taylor and Randy spent their time together and time with everyone else too. Normally everyone worked in the studio for four hours and then broke off for the day. When evening came everyone piled into the library and talked. Basically about everything that was happening and what they were planning to do when this was all over.
Sitting in the library with Angel on her shoulder, Dahven decided that she couldn't handle seeing Isaac flirt with Amanda and Kim anymore. Complaining of a headache she excused herself, and took Angel and herself up to her room.
Carefully she laid Angel on her bed and pulled out her little trundle bed from underneath it. Making sure that Angel couldn't fall off or out of the bed she went to change into her flannel pj bottoms and tank top. It was summer after all and it got awfully hot in the room because she was afraid to turn on the air conditioner and freeze Angel.
When she came out she saw Isaac standing in her doorway. She jumped and then slapped him lightly on his arm. "Geez! You scared the crap out of me!" She hissed just above a whisper.
Isaac smiled sheepishly. "I didn't mean to." He said softly as he glanced at Angel. "You've really taken to Angel haven't you?" He asked smiling.
Dahven smiled too and nodded slowly. "What can I say? I love her."
Nodding, Isaac tugged on her sleeve. "Come, I need to talk with you."
Thinking for a second, Dahven relented, and let him pull her into the tiny library across from her room. She looked around remembering when she had Randy meet Hanson and gave her the contract from 'Two Part Harmony' in there. When Taylor and her first met and became all shy. She smiled at those good memories. Then others flooded her mind and she frowned.
"What do you want, Is…?" She sighed softly and corrected herself. "Is there something wrong?"
Isaac stared at her with hurt written all over his face. "Can't even bring yourself to say my name now, can you?" He asked softly.
Dahven forced herself to gaze at her bare feet. "Do you need something?" She asked abruptly.
Walking over to her, Isaac grabbed her chin in between his index and forefinger. "I need you." He said softly.
"No, you don't." Dahven said in an uneven voice. "The only person who really needs me right now is Angel. And that's only because she is a child and cannot take care of herself."
Isaac shook his head. "I love you, D." His voice was thick with emotion.
"NO!" Dahven said covering her ears. "Don't say that! I fell for you once. I even fell for you twice. I can't bear another heartbreak. I wouldn't be able to handle it." She said softly as her tears formed like delicate crystals under her lashes.
In response Isaac only removed her hands from her ears and hugged her to him. "Sssh. Sssh. Everything will be all right." He whispered over and over into her hair.
Letting herself be close to him for a few seconds she quickly tore herself away from his grip. "I remember part of this one song. I remember the whole thing, but only one part fits right now."
Sighing, Isaac nodded for her to tell him the song.     Dahven nodded also. "It went: You probably won't remember me. It's probably ancient history. I'm one of the children who had went and ahead and fell for you. I'm out of bold. I'm out of touch. I fell too fast. I feel too much." She said that quietly as she let her tears continue to streak down her face.
Pain flickered more deeply in Isaac's eyes, before he grabbed a hold of Dahven's wrists. "Now I have a song that's fits perfectly." He whispered softly in her ear.
Stunned Dahven only nodded her head.
Gently Isaac started singing; "I pretend that I'm glad you went away. These four walls, closing more every day and I'm dying inside, and nobody knows it but me. Like a clown, I put on a show. The pain is real, even if nobody knows, and I'm crying inside, and nobody knows it but me. Why didn't I say the things I needed to say. How did I let my angel get away, and now my world is just a tumbling down. The nights are lonely the days are so sad, and I just keep thinking about the love that we had. And I'm missing you, and nobody knows it but me. I carry a smile when I'm broken in two, and I'm nobody without someone like you. I'm trembling inside and nobody knows it but me. How blue can I get; well you could ask my heart. But like a jig saw puzzle it's been torn all apart. A million words couldn't say just how I feel. A million years from you'll know that I'll be loving you still." He finished and waited for her reaction.
Dahven knew he left out a few parts but she loved it anyway. After a few seconds she realized that Isaac was slowly letting her go. She got scared. She didn't want him to let her go. Quickly she hugged him closer to her tightly and placed a sweet kiss on his mouth.
When they pulled apart to catch their breath Isaac was smiling happily at her.
A warm glow spread through out Dahven as she saw him smile. She knew, after all, that he did love her still. And she loved him; there was no doubt about that.
"We have to go to bed now." Dahven said that softly as the old grandfather clock in the hallway chimed ten o'clock. "You have work tomorrow." She said as they kept on kissing.
Isaac nodded. "I know. We should go to bed." He said as he continued to kiss her.
With all her will Dahven gently pushed Isaac away from her. "G'night Isaac." She said smiling.
Isaac smiled and kissed her goodnight before going down the hall to Arie's room, which he, Taylor, and Zac were sharing.
Making a quick check on Randy, Linz, and Amanda in the second master bedroom she discovered that they were all giggling when she walked in. "What?" She asked cautiously.
"So you and Ike are back together?" Randy asked smiling.
Dahven rolled her eyes. "G'night, girls." She said as she padded down to her room. Seeing that angel was sleeping peacefully on her bed, Dahven kissed her forehead before she lay down and went to sleep herself. Finally happy and content.
Stepping into the room he was sharing with his brothers, Isaac shook with excitement. "Tay!" He hissed at his younger brother.
Groaning, he rubbed his eyes. "What?" He asked groggily.
Isaac smiled brightly at him. "D and I are back together!" He exclaimed excitedly.
"Good for you, Ike. Now go to sleep." He mumbled before falling face first into his pillow.
Isaac rolled his eyes and looked at Zac.     Zac shot up. "Don't even think about waking me up." He said seriously.
"Ok." Isaac said laughing. "I won't, I promise."
"Good." Zac said nodding before he lay back down. "By the way." He said yawning. "I'm glad you and Charm are together again. You two deserve each other." He got out before he fell asleep.
After Isaac got ready for bed he smiled down at Zac. He has no idea how true that is. He thought to himself before he too went to sleep.
