# 11

"Plan four?" Shana asked when they walked into their room. "What's plan four?" Then she shook her head. "Wait, what was plan one, two, and three first?"

Shannon laughed. "Plan one was to runaway. Plan two was to do music. Plan three was to keep a low profile until after the video. And we just pretty much screwed up plan three when we started hanging out with Hanson and their family."

"Oh. Okay." Shana said nodding that she understood.

"God!" Shannon shouted out angrily as she flung herself face first into her bed. "This shouldn't be so hard." She said when she looked up at Shana.

Shana sat on her own bed. "I know it shouldn't be." She was quiet for a moment. "Why do you think that it is so hard?" She asked quietly.

Shannon looked up at Shana for a moment. Deep in thought. "Maybe we're on trial." She offered.

"What was our crime? And what will be our verdict? And what is our sentence going to be if we're convicted?" Shana asked. Tears welled up in her eyes.

Getting up, Shannon sat next to Shana on her bed. "Our sentence would be to listen to Barney sing country music forever."

Shana started laughing but a tear fell from her eye. She quickly wiped it away. Shannon gave her a tight hug. "Don't cry." She said softly. "We'll be together. I swear it."

"Okay." Shana said as she hugged Shannon tighter. "Okay." She whispered. She was crying now, and so was Shannon.

"I would never ever do music without you. You're my other half." Shannon said as she let her tears flow freely down her cheeks.

"And you are my other half." Shana replied.

Shannon got up slowly. "C’mon we have to work on the video tomorrow. We need some sleep."

Shana nodded. They were taking out their contacts when Shana spoke up. "What's it like to have a soul?" She queried.

"You know what it's like." Shannon said smiling weakly. "You have mine."

Shana smiled weakly too. "So you have mine?" She questioned.

Shannon nodded her head.

"I wondered where mine went." Shana said as she gave a short laugh.

"Go to sleep." Shannon said as she gave a small chuckle and lay in her bed. Neither of them bothered to change into their pj's.

~ The Next Morning ~

"Izzy!" Shana shrieked.

"What?! What?!" Shannon screamed looking around to see what was happening.

"What are we doing in this?" Casey asked ignoring Shana.

"I want it to be like Skyye and I were running away to be together. You know because we wanted to be together and it was like everyone wanted to keep us apart. Like have us arguing with our families or something." Shannon said softly as she watched Shana playing in the water that was going to be raining down on them shortly.

Tamra smiled brightly. "I like that idea." She said as she started to write furiously on a pad of paper.

Shannon smiled and nodded slightly. "Okay. Cool."

~ Four Hours Later ~

"Let's let go. Sometimes we need to be free. Let's let go. Baby, you know it's not gonna be. I'm tired of going around and around again. You keep dragging us back to where we've always been. Let's let go, baby, let's let go." Shannon and Shana sang softly as they were walking in the water that was being sprayed down on them.

"All right! Cut!" Tamra shouted. "That was perfect. I'll see you two tomorrow. We'll do the running away part tomorrow. Okay?" She asked as Shannon and Shana were handed towel and they started to dry off a little.

"Cool." Shannon said as she started to walk over to her backpack.

Shana went over to hers. "I'm just going to wear this." She said pointing to her soaking wet clothes.

Shannon sighed. "Me too. See ya later, Tamra!" She shouted over her shoulder as they started to walk off the street that they were using to walk on for the video.

"Later!" She heard Tamra call back.

"Let's see." Shana mumbled as they continued to walk down another street. "What to do, what to do."

Then they heard a car horn honked at them. Shana jumped and grabbed onto Shannon's arm.

"Get off me!" Shannon shouted laughing at Shana. "We're in public! And it's just the guys."

Shana started laughing too. Seeing that everyone else was laughing at her, she might as well join in too.

"So how is the video coming along?" Isaac asked as he and his brothers got out of his car.

"Actually surprisingly well. But we did kinda got wet today." Shannon said shrugging.

"Why?" Zac asked.

"Because that's what is in the video. Us walking in the rain." Shana explained.

"Oh, okay. Gotcha." Zac said nodding his head. "Now since we took the time to find you two, can we puh-lease do something?" He asked giving a sad face.

Shannon laughed. "I'm up for it." She said looking at Shana.

Shana nodded. "Sure. Love to." She said smiling. "But, umm, we're still wet from our video and all." She said looking down at her drenched clothes.

"Yeah, me too. Maybe we should have changed before we left." Shannon said smiling sheepishly.

"Doesn't matter." Isaac said going to the trunk of his car. "We have beach towels you can sit on. He said throwing Shannon and Shana a beach towel each.

Shannon laughed. "Cool." She said as she laid the beach towel on the passenger seat before she climbed in. Shana did the same in the back seat.

"Thanks for coming and looking for us." Shannon said as they started down the street.

Isaac nodded. "Not a problem. We got bored."

"Gee, thanks a lot." Shana said laughing.

Zac and Taylor laughed.

"He didn't mean it like that." Taylor said as he kept laughing.

"Sure." Shana said nodding, but she was smiling.

~ About Thirty Minutes Later ~

"So Skyye, Izzy, where are you two from?" Zac asked nonchalantly.

Shana looked at Shannon nervously.

Shannon smiled at Zac unfazed by his question. "Well, we're from Arizona. But when our parents basically ditched us, we moved here to be close to the ocean. Our new home."

Shana looked down to hide her smile. 'Off Balanced One, Hanson Zero.' She said to herself.

Zac nodded. "So how many brother's and sister's did you have?" He asked.

"We had two older brother's. No sister's." Shana said quietly.

"Do you miss them?" Taylor asked softly.

Shannon's eyes burned with anger. "Why the third degree?" She asked more coldly than she had wanted to.

"Sorry." Taylor said as he looked down. "We were just curious."

Shana looked at Shannon in shock. "We're sorry too." She mumbled.

"I'm the one who should be sorry." Shannon murmured. "I shouldn't have snapped. I'm just a bit defensive on that subject."

"Hey, I would be too." Isaac said as he walked next to Shannon.

Shannon stepped away from him. "Please take us out hotel." She asked quietly.

Isaac nodded. They all climbed back into his car and sat in an uncomfortable silence all the way to their hotel.

"Thanks." Shannon said barely audible before she got out and walked into the hotel. Not even bothering to wait for Shana.

Shana climbed out also. "Don't take it personal guys. Being eighteen and worrying about if you have enough money to support your younger sister and yourself is kind of stressful on her. She has to make sure that everything that she does won't get her in trouble or get me taken away." She explained gently as she cast a worried glance at her fleeing sister.

They all nodded. "We didn't mean for it to sound like we were accusing her or anything." Taylor replied.

Shana nodded. "I know." She said before she too walked into the hotel.

~ Inside Their Hotel Room ~

"Gosh, Shann!" Shana said as she walked into their room. "Next time you decide to do something like that warn me so that I can prepare for a story to tell 'em."

Shannon turned and looked at Shana. "We'll tell them the truth in two days anyway." She said shrugging. "So what does it matter?"

Shana sighed. "I don't wanna get caught." She said softly.

"I know." Shannon said nodding. "I don't either. But I'm glad we at least got people to hear us. We've never made it this far before."

"Do you think we ever will again?" Shana asked.

Shannon hugged Shana. "Yes." She said. "We will. I promise." She whispered.
