Chapter 103

(Back at the house)

We all walk in. Sarah, Brian, and Kevin are sitting in the living room. The rest are in the nursery.

"Oh my gosh! What happened to you guys?" Shena yells as she walks into the room.

Brian, Sarah, and Kevin look at AJ and Howie.

"Oh my gosh!" Sarah yelps.

"Oh, they're fine." I say.

"Speak for yourself." AJ says with a pout.

"Aw my poor baby. Lib, wadda say we clean these boys up?" I say patting AJ and D on the back.

Libby smiles as we head down the hall. AJ starts to walk towards the nursery.

"Where do you think you're going love?" I ask grabbing AJ's arm.

"To see the babies." AJ says.

"Not when you have blood and dirt all over you." I say leading AJ to our room, "Lib, just take D in the guest bathroom."

"Whoa, how many bathrooms does this place have?" Libby asks.

"Three" Howie says.

"Wow." Libby says leading Howie into the bathroom and sitting him on the edge of the tub.

"You know...that was a stupid thing you did." Libby says getting a wet cloth out of the linen closet.

"I guess I'm stupid then. But they had no right to call you that; nor the right to start anything with us." Howie says.

"I know, but you could have got seriously hurt." Libby says dabbing Howie's busted lip.

"It was worth it." Howie says.

Libby looks at him.

(In AJ and my bathroom)

"OUCH!" AJ says.

"It's not my fault. If you'd stop squirming I might be able to be more gentle" I say trying to wrap AJ's left wrist.

"Well, if you hadn't had got in that girls face..." AJ starts.

"She got in my face first." I say, "How the heck did you hurt your wrist anyway."

"You know when I got thrown up against the fence? When my hand hit the pole it twisted." AJ says.

"My poor baby." I say kissing AJ's wrist.

He smiles.

(Guest Bathroom)

"How's that?" Libby asks as she finishes cleaning Howie's lip up.

"Better; thanks." Howie says.

Howie starts to get up but then cringes in pain.

"What? What's wrong?" Libby asks sitting Howie back down.

"I feel like I hurt my back or something." Howie says.

"Here, lemme take a look." Libby says turning Howie around.

Libby takes off Howie's shirt; there's a big cut on his right shoulder blade.

"Oh man. Um...the light's bad in here; lets go in the bedroom." Libby says.

They walk in and Howie sits on the edge of the bed. She gets on the bed behind him.

"Man, when did this happen?" She asked while she doctored up the wound.

"I don't know. Maybe one of the many times he threw me against the ground." Howie says laughing.

Libby smiles.

"Ouch." Howie says softly as Libby bandages the cut.

"I know. I'm sorry, but it's kind of a deep cut; so it's going to hurt a little." Libby says, "I'll try to be gentle."

(AJ and my bathroom)

"Be gentle!" AJ yells.

"Sorry sweetie. I am being gentle; but you really busted yourself up here." I say.

AJ pouts.

"So much for keeping the peace huh?" I ask as I clean a cut near AJ's eye.

"Yeah really." AJ says swatting my hand away from his face.

"Stop it you little brat." I say smiling.

"But it hurts." AJ says still pushing my hands away.

"Look, if we don't fix it now; that beautiful face of yours is going to be all scarred up. Now please baby...let me do this." I say.

I slowly clean the cut. Then AJ sees me get a bottle of peroxide.

"Oh no you're not." He say getting up quickly.

I grab him by the shoulder and push him back down.

"This won't hurt...it's peroxide not alcohol. If it does hurt it'll only be for a second." I say.

AJ stays still while I put the peroxide on the cut.

"Ouch...that stings." AJ says.

I softly blow on it to make the stinging stop. After that, I put some antibiotic on the cut. Then I put a bandage over it.

"See, good as new." I say.

"All except for the hand." AJ says walking out of the bathroom.

"Where are you going?" I ask AJ.

"To see my babies." AJ says with a smile.

(Guest bedroom)

"There, that should do it." Libby says.

"Thanks." Howie says.

"I still don't see what pocessed you to think you needed to do that." Libby says sitting next to Howie on the bed.

"Like I said: You'll always be my girl. I love you no matter what; even if it is just friendship." Howie says.

Libby smiles.

"I got really scared there for a minute," Libby says, "I was sure they were going to really hurt us."

"Yeah, but then you open a can while defending Suzy, that was pretty good." Howie says.

Libby is really quiet for a couple minutes.

"You OK?" Howie asks.

He moves Libby's hair out of the way and sees she's crying.

"Oh sweetie what's wrong?" Howie asks.

"A delayed reaction I guess. I just don't like fighting." Libby says.

Howie holds her for a minute.

"Don't worry; I'm here." Howie says with a worried look on his face.

The go on talking for a while and Libby finally feels better about the whole thing.

"Well, I'm going to go look at the babies now." Libby says walking towards the door.

"OK, I'm going to go talk to AJ." Howie says walking right behind her.

"OK." Libby says.

Just as Libby goes to open the door Howie says, "Libby?"

"What?" She asks.

"There's been something I've been wanting to do; I mean, just one last time." Howie says.

Libby looks at Howie confused, "What's that?"

Howie leans in and kisses her.

(In the nursery)

AJ is holding both Christian and Dominique, and he looks very proud.

"Now that's a Kodak moment." Sarah says walking in with the camera.

"I swear, you always have a camera in your hand." AJ says laughing.

"Hey, we have to cherish these memories." Sarah says.

Libby and Howie walk in.

"Hey, how's Tyson?" I say.

Howie looks at me confused and then realizes what I meant, "Oh, I'm fine."

"Libby was probably nicer to you then Suzy was to me." AJ says.

"Stop whining." I say slapping AJ on the arm.

"Ouch!" AJ says.

"You big baby." I say under my breath.

AJ just smiles at me.
