Chapter 101

(3 weeks later)

AJ is driving us home in Brian's blazer. The babies will be home for the first time.

I'm sitting in the seat behind the drivers. Dominique is in a car seat next to me. Christian is laying in the car seat next to her.

Nick and Libby are sitting behind me. But they're moved foward looking at the babies.

Howie is sitting next to AJ in the passenger's seat. But he's turned around looking at the babies and talking to Nick, Libby, and I.

I realize that we have no nursery for the babies.

"AJ, where are we gonna put these two?" I ask.

"What do you mean?" he asks in a confused way.

"Sweetie, we have no nursery for the babies!" I say.

Before AJ could answer, Howie opens up. "This was going to be a surprise for later because I didn't know when you'd be having them! But, I had a nursery built onto one of my condos for you. I knew you didn't ahve the space at home."

"One of your condo's? How will that help us if we live somewhere else?" I ask getting confused.

Howie looks over at AJ and AJ smiles.

"Hello? Is anyone going to fill me in?" I ask.

I look back at Nick and Libby; they smile at me.

"What the heck is going on you guys?" I ask.

"AJ, I think she's going to loose it if you don't tell her. I mean, she missed a lot the last three weeks." Howie says.

"What did I miss?" I ask.

"Well honey," AJ starts, "I was going to tell this to you later, cause I thought it'd be later before you had the babies."

"I noticed me having the babies at this time in history seems to be an inconvience to everyone." I say laughing.

Howie tries to hide his laughter.

"Well, I knew that we were going to have to get a new place when you had the babies. Cause there's just not enough room in you and Sarah's or Brian and my apartment. And since we are going to get married; well...I knew we weren't going to live in those apartments forever." AJ says.

"AJ...would you like to get to the point before the kids 16th birthday." I say.

"Well, I put a down payment on one of Howie's condo's when I asked you to marry me. When we found out you were pregnant; Howie called and had a nursery put in." AJ says.

"Oh my God; really? We're...we have a new home?" I ask.

"Yeah, the house was done when I put the down payment on it. But when we found out you were pregnant; Howie had them add a nursery on to it." AJ says as he consintrates on the road.

"Oh Howie; really?" I ask.

Howie nods.

With the carseats in the way, I realize I can't lean over to hug him. I say to him, "I'd hug you, but...um...".

He puts his hand up as to stop me. He laughs, "It's ok, I understand completely!"

I smile big at him. AJ looks at him approvingly with his big, goofy grin. Libby, though she's sitting with Nick's one arm around her, smile's big for Howie, letting him know that she thinks it's a great thing he did for AJ and I. He smiles back at her. I notice the looks between them. I'd smile if they were happier. But when I see Libby look at Nick, she looks very happy. I know she said she doesn't LIKE him, but I know she does. I can feel it in my gut. Better than what I feel now. I feel so sick!

(At Our New Home)

"Well, here we are." AJ says.

"Oh my gosh, it's so beautiful." I say looking up at the big condo.

Howie grabs Christian and his car seat; AJ grabs Dominique and hers. Then all of us head inside.

I step inside; even though there still a little light outside; the inside of the house is really dark.

"Where's the light switch in this place?" I ask feeling around on the walls.

All of a sudden; the lights come on. Kevin, Shena, Brian, Sarah, and Tiffany are standing in the living area.

"Surprise!" They all yell.

I look around the room. AJ and my stuff is in the house.

"What the...?" I ask.

"Well, I told you, you missed a lot during your three weeks in the hospital." AJ says giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I just stand there smiling as I look around the room. I think to myself: 'This is our home. We are...Oh my gosh; our home.' I start to cry a little.

"What's wrong Hun?" AJ asks.

"I'm just really happy." I say.

"If you're that happy about the living room; I think you'll die when you see the nursery." Sarah says.

I get an excited look on my face and we all walk down the hall. Howie gives us the grand tour.
