chapter 79 "I think if she doesn't buzz off I'm going to cry," Zac said. "Sometimes I just want to hit her."

"Agh, someday, Zac, you'll realize that she's your true love," Jocelyn said, her mouth a smirk. Zac pulled a pillow over his head and screamed into it, causing her to laugh. "You shouldn't be so melodramatic," she warned him. "It's bad for your blood pressure."

He sat up, glared at her, then promptly rolled off her bed and onto the floor. He sat on the plush carpet for a minute staring around. "It never occurred to me exaclty how girly your room is."

"Um...okay?" she asked. "I'm 12. What do you expect?"

"Uh..." He looked at her. "Why do girls like pink so much?"

"God, I don't know," she said. "You tell me. I don't really care for it, but...it's there."

"It looks like pepto bismol," Zac said, making a putrid face.

She rolled her eyes. "Get over it, Zac."

"I'm just commenting," he said. "Girls are so weird. Everything has to be frilly and fluffy, or they don't like it."

"Does not," Jocelyn contradicted. "You're not frilly and fluffy, and I like you just fine. And look at Skye. Frilly and fluffy, she is not."

"True," he said.

"Anyhow, what's up with guys?" she asked. "I mean, they have this macho complex that feels the need to be superior. At least girls don't have rabid egos."

"I don't have an ego," Zac protested. "And even if I do, it's not rabid."

Jocelyn rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

Zac rolled his eyes as well.

"What does it matter anyhow?" Jocelyn asked. "Hey! You wanna see if we can go ice skating? There's a skating rink in the new mall that opened up last month," she told him.

"Really?" Zac asked. "I didn't know that."

She shrugged. "C'mon. I'll bet my mom will take us!"

Isaac sat on the floor, rummaging through letters he'd received during the tour. 4 had come from Jerry, who faithfully wrote him every other week. Things were going well for her. She'd gotten a part-time job, and she passing all of her classes. In fact, she was pulling A's in all of them. Daniel was growing up fast, she often wrote. Everyday he did something new.

She'd written a lot about Conna, as well. "Just give her a call when you get home. Trust me, she'll love to go out with you any time." That was what her last letter had said.

He sighed heavily. He hoped Conna was as fun to be around as Jerry. Otherwise, he would be friendless again. He would say he would get a job, but working was hardly an option. He had a job, didn't he? He would go to college, but he'd miss half of his classes anyhow, because of touring and such.

Conna's number was still in his memory, because it had also been Jerry's number only 2 months ago. He dialed her up. "Hello, is Conna there?"

"This is she. Who is this?"

"Um, hey. It's Isaac Hanson," he said.

"Hey, Isaac!" Her voice was enthusiastic. "How is the tour going?"

"It's good," he said. The conversation inched on. The longer he talked to her, the better he felt.
