"I'm sorry, ma'am, but we have no reservations for Thomson," the man behind the desk apologized again. Lia and Jordan followed their downtrodden mother back out to the car.
"What now?" Lia asked.
"Yeah, what now?!" Jordan shrilled.
"I...guess we'll have to spend the night in the van."
Lia's mouth opened wide. "B...bu...WHAT?!?!?!"
Taylor sat on the airplane, dreamily thinking about Skye. God, he missed her already. This would have been their first Saturday together...as in TOGETHER. He didn't think it was so strange to know he was in love with her so soon. They'd been best friends for practically forever, right? Right?
Yes. This is normal, he decided, and allowed himself to fall off into an unpeaceful slumber.
"Yes, sir," Jerry mumbled. "I understand. My paycheck will be docked. Yes, sir. Thank you."
She hung up, sadly. Conna was asleep on the couch, her auburn hair greasy and dark make-up still applied. She sighed. Some help she would be. Conna was lazy and unmotivated; but she didn't mind that Jerry was pregnant, and she didn't treat her terribly. And her parents didn't mind paying for Conna's apartment.
She got up and walked to the window. 8 floors up, with a beautiful view of Tulsa. She wondered if Isaac's view from the plane was a s beautiful as hers from here.
