But somehow, she managed to get to her feet with swift and steady grace. She smiled courteously, and shook the young girl's hand. "Hello, I'm Mrs. Hanson. You must be Jerry."

Jerry smiled with relief. "Nice to meet you. Yes, I'm Jerry."

"Well, Isaac, why don't you go in the den. Your father is waiting for you." Isaac cringed.

"Is he gonna kill me for being late?" he asked. Mrs. Hanson laughed, and shrugged.

Isaac sighed defeatedly, and went to face his father's wrath. Jerry looked after him worriesomely. "I'm sorry if I caused you any..."

"SURPRISE!!!!" Skye and Mrs. Hanson burst out laughing, and Jerry stood there, grinning at their little joke. The loud shouts of Happy Birthday were followed by Isaac's voice saying, "God, I thought Dad had hired the Mafia to come and kill me!!"

Chuckles resounded from inside the room. The three women finally went into the den to join in the celebration. Isaac was already embracing some of his relatives, slapping the backs of some friends who were supposed to be away at college, and giving high fives to the numerous little cousins and young neighbors.

"How was the concert?" Diana asked Jerry, as they watched the scene play out before them.

"Isaac and Taylor seem to have an affection for their music," the older said with a shrug. Suddenly, Skye chimed in.

"Do you have Whorehouse Friday Night?" she asked, eyes sparkling.

"Who doesn't?" Jerry asked. "It's great isn't it?"

"I love it," Skye replied. Mrs. Hanson watched as the two girls walked off, chattering about some rock band that she didn't really care for. It concerned her that Isaac's date was pregnant. Lord, she hoped the child wasn't his. Though she doubted it, never say anything is an impossibility. Out of the blue, a stampede of young children came barrelling through, nearly knocking her off her feet. Hurrying after the pack to stop them before the broke something, she quickly became too preoccupied to worry about Isaac's lady friend's potential motherhood.
