"That's what I heard, anyhow," he said. Taylor flopped back on his bed and whimpered pathetically.
"But why?!" He sat back up with a jerk. "Am I not good enough for her anymore?"
Josh grinned. "Maybe it's just that she sees you as a friend; and she might have liked Randy for a long time."
"Randy? No, for a long time she liked Jared Leto. For a long time she liked Brad Pitt. For a long time she like Dennis Pfeifer. For a long time she liked Sam Braddocking," Taylor intoned. "I knew about ALL of her crushes. Never once was there a Randy mentioned in the lot."
"Did you ever think that she didn't tell you everything?" Josh asked. Taylor gave him a condescending look.
"Why the hell would I think that?" he snapped.
"Because apparently it's true. She's been holding something back for her to go off and drastically change...literally OVERNIGHT," Josh explained softly. Tay's eyebrows knit, and he got a hurt look on his face.
"But WHY?! That's what I want to know! I always told her everything. Absolutely everything," he mumbled, nearly in tears.
"You didn't tell her how you felt about her," Josh said.
"By the time I found out she had gone off and started acting weird," Taylor garoused.
"That's a load of BS," Josh muttered. "The guys and I have all been waiting for you two to FINALLY get a hook up. I mean, it was always obvious you two were more than just friends."
Taylor gave him a look. "But we never did anything more than talking. I mean...we never acknowledged that we even liked each other. I didn't think that I liked her THAT way, and I guess she doesn't feel that way at all."
Josh rolled his eyes. "That's the beautiful thing about your relationship, Tay. You guys never had to say anything. It was always underneath the surface. You were like...telepaths or something. Racheal and I always envied you."
"Racheal? But you guys are like...tight," Taylor said, completely baffled.
"It took us work," Josh sighed. "You guys just...were and you were happy."
"But we were just friends," Taylor repeated.
Josh just rolled his eyes again. "Anyhow, I've gotta go. Racheal's meeting me at the arcade."
Just as Josh was walking out the door, Taylor called him back. "What?" he asked.
"Man, have you ever questioned whether or not you were gay?" Taylor asked.
"No," Josh said. "Why?"
"'Cos the advice you just gave sounded like something that came from either a woman or a gay guy," Taylor laughed.
"Oh," Josh said, smiling. "Racheal wanted me to take a sensitivity class, so I am. See ya later, Tay."
Taylor just stared in amazement as Josh left. It was amazing sometimes what girls turned guys into.
