Are Sliver Decks Overlooked?

A sliver deck. Sounds really good right? Then how come no one is using them? I mean really, what has stopped people (especially during this 5-color craze) from using them a lot? really! I think that these decks are highly overlooked! Why? The lack of a really big creature. Thankfully Stronghold solved that. I am talking about the Sliver Queen, the 7/7 tiny creature spewing big ass creature. Now let's think, if you have 4 muscle silvers, you would have an 11/11 creature here. That pretty nice. best of all it only costs five mana to put out! That's nice. (this will further be explained in may 17's card of the week which i will paste on here after i am done with it). So why hasn't it caught on? Well one thing is that sliver decks, to be succesful and not slowed down, have to be, primarily creatures (slivers in fact!). This means no life gaining spells, no fireballs, none of that. Sure you can put one Alabaster Potion out but any thing much more than that will slow it down too much. And the painlands which would fuel a 5-color sliver deck cost life. That's something you get back with spells. There is a solution though. Get something great to draw cards with. A prosperity or something. This will quickly cycle through your deck and find the best creatures and spells. The Sliver deck's potential has yet to be tapped (nice one eh?) so be the first one on your block to make one!
