Hidden Wrestlers

They are only Cactus Jack and Dude Love.... don't look for anymore to be in the game!

Create A Wrestler

Yes, after only being able to create great wrestlers in the Fire Pro series... the create a player mode comes to America via WWF Warzone. Before prior knowledge one would it think it would be a dinky generic-just name a character sort of thing, but upon further investigation one would find that its actually a cool little option. There are 40 different costume pieces that you can choose from, you can change the wrestler's color and skin tone, you can assign your wrestler attributes ranging from speed to strength. And also the ability to create more then a thousand costumes for your wrestlers. In addition you have 5 different body types to your gaming pleasure. You are able to choose your own moves and finishers, but they are included in sets. You can create up to 30 customized wrestlers. The created players take 2 out of 12 blocks on a PSX memory card and 121 pages on a N64 memory card. There are even DX, Austin, Mankind, WWF Attitude, and a whole lot more shirts to your disposal for your created players. Taunts and theme music will be based on the set of moves you picked for your wrestler.

Attributes

Each customized and WWF wrestler has a beginning set of attributes that reflect how they act in real life. The attributes play a major role in how your wrestler wrestles because if you have a wrestler with low stamina you better not try running around a lot or if you have a small-quick wrestler you better not try a lot of power moves which can be reversed and used against you. So attributes are actually used instead of just being there. And best of all they can increase based on the WWF Challenge mode where as you increase in the ranks so do your attributes.

Game Modes

There are many different modes that the N64 version has are 1 on 1, tag-team, steel cage, weapons, gauntlet mode, royal rumble, and WWF Challenge mode. The game is designed to use all four controllers in the tag and royal rumble modes. The Royal Rumble uses all 16 wrestlers competing in it, but only 4 wrestlers can be in the ring at the same time though. The WWF Challenge mode is sort of a "season" mode where you choose either a customized or a real wrestler and you start your way at the bottom of the ladder. You have to beat 12 of the 16 wrestlers before working your way up to the championship and you get different belts during the trial course. It is a single-elimination pyramid. During this course you are confronted with grudge matches, which are where run-ins come into play. Say for instance your Owen Hart and you just beat Shawn Michaels. And on your next match you have to wrestle Triple H and Shawn doesn't like the way you beat him during the last match so he comes down the isle and starts a major beatdown on you with Hunter helping as well. This results in a disqualification and you fight Shawn Michaels immediately afterwards in some sort of gimmick match like a Steel Cage to settle the score. In addition to this there will be a training mode added to the game itself. The ladder match is officially OUT. The Gauntlet mode is where you face off against 6 random wrestlers at the same time and your health never goes up. Run-ins will be accessible by a touch of a button. The Steel Cage match will actually have you climb over the ring to win the match, unlike other games. You will be able to win the WWF Championship and Intercontinental belts by beating the "season" mode. You will continue to stay on top until someone "knocks" you down. You can get counted out and dq'ed. Royal Rumble will start with two wrestlers in the ring and every two minutes, another wrestler comes into the ring.

Moves - AI

Each wrestler has 90 different moves in his arsenal and there will be over 600 total moves in the game as well. The game uses a power meter type system, where if your wrestler is in the red, it is easier to pin him. Also there is an advance submission hold AI involved where you have to work to keep the hold on while the the other wrestler has to work to get out of it. There will be plenty of multi-player moves included in the game as well. The AI for the game itself is being tweaked to give more expierenced players a run for their money. The button configuration will be along the lines of Tekken. There are a wider range of reversals then WCW vs. nWo. New info has stated that there are over 200 individual attacks (based on situation/locations) with each wrestler having 85 and 100 total moves. (depending on situation/location, etc.) EX--Just standing there facing your Opp, you can do roughly 25 moves/attacks (this doesn't include running, Opp running, TB, Opp on ground, etc.) There are 8 to 9 moves in the tieup (depending on if the wrestler has a Finisher from Tieup). . .and the list goes on.

Sound - Taunts

Jim Ross and Vince McMahon provide over 1 1/2 hours of running commentary in the game. They will talk about the wrestlers themselves by using their names and when you have a created player they respond to your wrestler like (Player 1 hits an unbelievable neckbreaker to Mankind). The wrestlers have five individual taunts each and they actually say something when you do them. Taunts will also increase your endurance and recovery rates. The taunts include DX's popular crotch chops, but there will not be a middle finger taunt for Austin due to some technical difficultys. Also there are certain hecklers in the crowd which badmouth the wrestlers. Heels will be booed like crazy when winning and faces will get huge pops like wise. Wrestlers will "talk down" other wrestlers during the match itself. All of the entrance music for the wrestlers are included in the game and stored in MIDI format. Titan will be producing all of the music.

Graphics

The game is totally in 3D with a "free floating camera" providing you with the best shots it thinks possible and also the wrestlers are individually motion captured to provide you with the best looking wrestlers on a console to date. They are "soft skinned" models as Iguana likes to call them. The game will focus around the WWF Raw and WWF Warzone program on USA with intros, vs screens, gates, isles, and other normal surroundings you would expect on the show. Best of all, the wrestlers will not be outdated when the game comes out.. as all wrestlers will be changed into their current get-ups. There are two different costumes for each wrestler. Ring entrances, the Titan Tron, and the ring ramp are included in the game. The ring entrances have a model walking to the ring with their theme music in the background, now this is what I'm talking about. Tag teams will walk out together and fireworks will be included for the special matches. Grudge match fmvs on the N64 will work with the actual player models and the wrestler's real voice talking in the game. The wrestlers are size proportioned. The ropes will shake when a wrestler falls and they will bend when a wrestler runs into them. Wrestlers will not walk down the isle with their respected belt. You will not be able to fight on the ramp. The game will run in high resolution mode.

Weapons - Blood

The game will include lots of weapons like: a video camera, tv monitor, table, stairs, 2 X 4, and a ring bell. You will be able to break the table in half. Blood has been added for cage and weapon matches. Weapons will be accessible inside the ring and you can do a wide variety of moves onto a table so it will break. The crowd will throw in extra weapons to spice up the action, kinda like old school ECW where every match was extreme. You can't go past the barricades or beat up the fans for that matter.

Bet a Belt - Stats

I am proud to say that War Zone will include the feature of the bet a belt option. This is where you get a belt, save it on a memory card, fight your friend for it, and whoever wins the match gets the belt and it stays on the winners memory card. War Zone will also include statistics ranging from custom wrestlers attributes can improve by the more wins he has, resulting in the ranking of custom wrestlers. Also you will be able to rank how many belts you won with others.

What Acclaim Said about Gameplay
1. You can dodge and block.
2. You can get the crowd to cheer for you because you are doing a lot of crowd pleasing moves. When the crowd cheers for your wrestler, he will get a rush and start to do 2 times, 3 times and 4 times damage.
3. You can put wrestlers into submission holds. You can extend the amount of time they stay in the hold by rapidly pressing your buttons. The longer you are in the hold, the more damage you will do.
4. You can kick out of pins by rapid button pressing.
5. The different wrestler attributes actually effect the wrestler's fighting style.

Our grappling system is based on 3 things:
1. A wrestler can gain a grappling advantage by getting a few quick shots in first. If I connect with a punch/kick/basic move a few times and then grapple, I will have an advantage.
2. Damage of the move I am trying to pull off vs. how quickly I pulled off the move is factored for both players. High damage moves take longer to pull off than low damage moves. Using rule 1 and 2: if I have the advantage because of a punch just before I grapple, I am given more time to pull off a more damaging move.
3. To avoid always pulling off the lowest damage move we have also made it so you can learn specific moves which always override certain other moves.
