2002 Cars

My demolition derby page.  I built a 77 Lincoln Continental in 9 days and ran it at the Lake County Fairgrounds Demolition Derby on Sunday July 28th.

I found this car in a guys backyard for sale asking price was for  800 bucks.  I talked him down to 175 and popped in a new battery.  Ran like a champ except the brakes were a little squishy.   EVERYTHING on the car worked (map lights, ash tray lights, pwr windows and locks).  Was kind of a shame to destroy it but OH WELL.

This is once the car was ready for the race and ready to make some hits.  WHAT A TANK.  I did basically minimum work to the car to get it ready.

These are the final pics of the car.  I won first in my heat race and then was about the 9th car in the A Feature out of 20 cars or so.  I would've ran longer but my fan ran into my radiator and got stuck so the engine wouldn't start up anymore.  I was thinking about taking it off too and didn't.  I'm sure if I would've popped the hood and taken the fan off the engine would've started right back up.  Very strong car.   Waiting for more pics from after the heat race.  Should have them up soon.

Thanks to Frank Jackowiak, my pops/dad, Steve, my brother Dr. Demento Jr., My Pit Crew Princess Marcy, Steve Kipp, Ed's Towing Service, Dream Reapers Haunted House, and whoever else might have helped me with the car.  I'll be back next year.
