iRiver
iFP-180T
The
Good
Small.
Long battery life. FM Tuner. Good sound quality. 5 preset EQ and 1 user
EQ. Multi-language supports. Multi-laguage support. Good quality headphone
included.
The
Bad
Non-upgradeable. A bit expensive for a non-supgradable 128MB MP3 player.
No direct USB connection as the MuVo.
The
Conclusion
Creative
is the first to came up with its MuVo MP3 player, which is a thumbdrive
based MP3 player that can act as both MP3 player and a portable large
enough (128MB) removable drive. Hence, more of less, any MP3 of these
size that can store any files is now being compared against MuVo. Now,
iRiver come out with a slightly larger version which has much extra features
compared to the MuVo. First noticible thing missing from the MuVo (a lot
of people will want to have this) is the LCD display. The unique 4 lines
large LCD display give the 180T a few steps ahead of the MuVo. Further,
the 180T has also a build-in FM tuner (no memory for preset stations though).
Then, there is the 5 preset equalizer (EQ) and 1 user defined EQ. Finally,
this MP3 came with a high quality (good enough for me) Sennheiser headphones.
It has a unique prism shaped design where it can sit on top (horizontally)
of your desk like a LCD alarm clock. And the sound quality wise, it is
good (if not better) than of what the MuVo can give you. As for the removable
drive function, the 180T gives you the similar fucntion except that you
will need to bring your USB cables around. And, 180T has a recordability
function, where you can either record it from the built-in Mic or from
the radio stations. And, it supports multi-language for your MP3 tag.
So, what's the bad about this player? Nothing much, except
the price tag. With the price tag of US$250, you can easily buy a Creative
Zen with a few bucks more for a 20GB portable storage. That is if you
don't mind the size of the Zen.
Conclusion, if you like small and you don't mind the price
tag, and you LOVE all the functions, this is the BEST buy so far.
