You have to feel sorry for Ms. Cordelia Chase - even if she is rich and has a lot of short skirts...(don't even ask). She is a walking (if not thinking) stereotype and has been trying to break out of her cast lately. She can be pretty materialistic and this is the best thing about her. "Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass." is her motto and she has lived by it since we first saw her. She used to just be a popular chick with a neat car & shallow friends until Buffy came along. Her two big accomplishments until then were attending Saturday school and becoming a cheerleader. You know a chick can't be too bright when she asks why she should get a book on computers... Cordelia's sudden thrust into the darker sides of Sunnydale left her with less time to socialise and do her nails.

Cordelia sort of found out Buffy's secret by mistake. I remember the first time they met and Cordy invited Buffy to The Bronze because it was the only cool place in Sunnydale. Buffy was acting all weird because she knew things were going down and figured Cordelia would die that night. Then Buffy accidentally got Cordelia in this manic choke hold (something people do all the time mistakenly) and completely freaked her out. Cordelia immediately whipped out her cell phone and excused herself so she could call "absolutely everyone" she knew and let them know to watch out for the new girl.

She and Xander hated each other for about twelve years (he was even treasurer of the "We Hate Cordelia" club). Then all of a sudden they found themselves making out in the janitor's closet...I think they were as shocked as I was 0:-) Her relationship with Xander confuses me. I'm not really sure why Cordelia's dating him. Despite everything I just said, Cordelia is an ok kind of person. She might not help an old lady across the street but she'd probably get some guy to do it. She's come through in a few sticky situations and is kind of getting used to being in constant peril. But anyway. I'm not really sure why the two are dating.

They are nice young people, happy within their own circle (or lack thereof) and seemed to hate each other for so long. The only thing that seemed to bring them together was the danger Buffy threw them in (remember when she and Buffy were almost eaten by that Makeda monster and Cordelia said she hated being around them because weird stuff always happened?)...but now that the Slayer's split town what will happen? All I know is that Cordy is supposed to be a regular on Angel's new show next year - other than that who knows? 0:-)
Well we all saw "The Wish" Things did not turn out as I expected. I never expected Xander to be the one to hurt Cordelia. I always thought she woudl cheat on him or they woudl just grow apart...but the way he hurt her... *wow* The look on her face when she walked in on Xander and Willow kissing was the single most anguishing look I've ever seen come form her. Even I felt terrible.

I always said Xander was in lust with Cordelia but in love with Buffy...and love should last a lot longer than lust. And then course, Xander did realise in the 2nd part of Becomming that he loved Willow so that's a whole new confusing thing with him...*sigh* He's alone these days (deserving everything he gets. See what this show puts me through?

Cordelia is a nifty artist and very pretty though. Its a different kind of pretty from Buffy and often less stated but present nonetheless. Its amazing that Charisma Carpenter didn't set out to be a model or actress. Like Sarah Michelle Gellar, she was discovered in a restaurant but under different conditions. Sarah was discovered at three, cutely eating and thrown into commercials. When Charisma was discovered, she was in junior college and waiting tables to pay for it. At the time she was also an aerobics instructor - you can see why *eg* Well anyway, she made deoderant commercials and then worked on Baywatch.
I hope this pic of her doesn't offend anyone - it was the most "decent" one I could find from her time on Baywatch - well there were some of her in this moomoo type dress but I didn't like them much. 0:-P
