Good Forms of Play

the cost of living is way too rough
we never seem to earn enough
still that's no reason to act so tuff
someone's gonna call your bluff

Then you not only have no food to eat
they may take the shoes right off your feet
and leave you lying in the street
like crap tossed on a garbage heep.

Now if your nice and smile at folks
an laugh a bit and tell some jokes
they'll help you out with love and hope
for this can bind better than rope

You say you want to live in peace
so share your stuff with Hitler's neice
If you can't work out disputes with neighbours
how will we stop the drawing of sabres

these words of advice didn't come easy
there was a time I was pretty sleazy
taunting the weak with sarcastic teasing
do those things juvaniles find pleasing

I grew out of it I'm glad to say
it makes for many more fulfilling days
and let me help to show the way
people can find good forms of play
