Hugs
Hugs are warm
Hugs are nice
Hugs are a way to break the ice.
If you give me a hug
You won't regret
I'll hug you back
So you won't forget!
A hug is just a way to say,
I love you is a special way,
To tell the someone special,
I care about you in every way.
When you shed a tender tear
a hug is sure to be near.
When you're trembling in fear
a hug will come from someone dear.
Wrap your arms around someone near
In your hug is the circle of life.
A new beginning to an endless day
A ray of hope to light your way.
Take a hug and pass it on
don't save them up it can't be done.
Share them with family and friends,
share them whenever you can.
A hug will make you "aahh"
A hug will make you "oohh"
A hug will make you smile
A hug will make you feel great.
A hug lightens up your day
A hug throws away your loads
A hug strengthens your ties
A hug makes you feel important.
Stop! Take a break!
A hug is harmless
It only takes a little of our time
Why not share a hug?
We all need a hug, don't we?
Untitled
I haven't seen you in a while
yet I often imagine
all your expressions
I haven't spoken to you recently
but many times
I hear your thoughts
Good friends must not always
be together
It is the feeling of oneness
when distant
that proves a lasting friendship.
A Friend Or Two
There's all of pleasure and all of peace
In a friend or two;
And all your troubles may find release
Within a friend or two;
It's in the grip of the sleeping hand
Or native soil or in alien land,
But the world is made-do you understand-
of a friend or two.
A song to sing and a crust to share
With a friend or two;
A smile to give and grief to bear
With a friend or two;
A road to walk and a goal to win,
An inglenook to find comfort in,
The gladdest hours that we know begin
With a friend or two.
A little laughter; perhaps some tears
With a friend or two;
The days, the weeks, the months and years
With a friend or two;
A vale to cross and a hill to climb,
A mock at age and a jeer at time-
The prose of life thakes the lilt to rhyme
With a friend or two.
The brother-soul and the brother-heart
Of a friend or two
Makes us drift on from crowd apart,
With a friend or two;
For come days happy or come days sad
We count no hours but the ones made glad
By the hale good times we have ever had
With a friend or two.
Then brim the goblet and quaff the toast
To a friend or two,
For glad the man who can always boast
Of a friend or two;
But fairest sight is a friendly face,
The blithest tread is a friendly pace,
And heaven will be a better place
For a friend or two.
The Man Who Thinks He Can
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't;
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fewllow's will;
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think you're outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself before
you can ever win a prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
A Forever Friend
Sometimes in life,
you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;
Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just wating for you to open it.
This is forever friendship.
When you're down,
and the world seems dark and empty,
Your forever friend lifts you up in spirit
and makes the dark and empty world
suddenly seem bright and full.
Your forever friend gets you through
the hard times, the sad times,
and the confused times.
If you turn and walk away,
your forever friend follows.
If you lose your way,
your forever friend guides you
and cheers you on.
Your forever friend holds your hand
and tells you that
everything is going to be okay.
And if you find such a friend,
you feel happy and complete,
because you need not worry.
You have a forever friend for life,
and forever has no end.
Forget-Me-Not
Yesterday I knew your face.
Forgive me today,
it's become misplaced.
A moment ago,
I could tie my shoes;
I can't seem to now,
-that's up to you.
A week ago
I could sing that song
But I can't now
-the words are gone.
I knew this house,
I knew this place.
But now it's just an
empty space.
As time goes by
I've lost a lot
But please remember
Forget me not.
A Friend is a Treasure
A friend is someone we turn to
When our spirits need a lift,
A friend is someone we treasure
For our friendship is a gift,
A friend is someone who fills our lives
With beauty, joy, and grace
And makes the world we live in
A better a happier place.
Hug O'War
I will not play at Tug O'War
I'd rather play at Hug O'War
Where everyone hugs, instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug
Where everyone kisses
and everyone grins
and everyone cuddles
and everyone wins.

Some people
come into our lives
and quickly go......
Some people
become friends
and stay for a while......
leaving beautiful
footprints on our
hearts......
and we are
~never~
quite the same
because we have
made a good friend!!
Without You
Without you, I would not grow
so much or laugh so much or know
so much. Without you, I would not
play so much or make so much of
home. Without you, I would not
smile so much or give so much or
live so much. So many parts of
me would be missing...
without your smile to help me grow.
daisy-chains
how do we go out and face the world is the
same question as how do we pick our friends?
...dearly, like gems. carefully, like flowers.
the moments we remember best stay with us
like a daisy-chain; like a necklace made of
flowers, worn with familiarity and love, and
close to the heart. we arrange them until they
become something beautiful and walk out into
the world holding hands.

I don't know if roses grow
because we need them
in the winter
to remind of us the spring
or if roses--like a friend--
simply remind us
of growing up
and going on to do great things.
and if a rose were ever chosen
for its power,
without a friend to give it to,
I don't know what that means.
but I know that just one rose
can bring a smile to any day...
Simple Friends and Real Friends
Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a friend will stand by you even when you are wrong...
A simple friend identifies himself when he calls,
A real friend doesn't have to.
A simple friend opens a coversation with a full new bulletin on his life,
A real friend says "What's new with you?"
A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent,
A real friend says "You've been whining about the same thing for the last 14 years. Get off your duff and do something about it."
A simple friend has never seen you cry,
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents first names,
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party,
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed,
A real friend asks why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk to you about your problems,
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest,
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument,
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
A simple friend expects you to always be there for them,
A real friend expects to always be there for you.
What is the past, we can hold those memories forever...
what is the present, no longer will be the same...
what is the future...it is unknown...
we will never know what we could have had but what we have now.
A person is only complete
when she has a true friend
to understand her
to share all her
passions and sorrows with
and to stand by her
throughout her life.
Yesterday is a history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today? Today is a gift.
That's why we call it "the Present".
Unwrap it with a smile!
The Beatitudes
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for
theirs is the kingdom of neaves.
Blessed are the meek, for they
shall posses the earth.
Blessed are those who mourn, for
they shal be comforted.
Blessed are they who hunger and
thirst for justice, for they shall be
satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful, for they
shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for
they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for
they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who suffer persecution
for justice' sake, for theirs
is the kingdom of heaven."
