The SusanJohn's Top 10 Memories (So far...)
2/24/98... I remember waking up that morning anxious about the big indoor State track meet. It made me happy to know that Munky and John would be going along, even though they didn't have to. Of course it made me more nervous,too, considering that I had a huge crush on John. That day in Biology class, John drew me a picture of Munky and himself blowing spitwads at all of the other runners on the track so that I would win the race! I listened to some of John's music on the bus ride to the Armory...Deftones I believe it was. The track meet went well, and I was looking forward to running my last race of the night, the 800 meter run. As I was munching on Mr. Belden's powerbars and trying to stay calm, Munky called me over to talk. I noticed that he immediately called John over to talk, too. We all stood there in a circle until Munky spoke the words that changed the rest of my life... "Susan, do you like John?" The redness crept into my face, and I looked down at the floor and answered, "Yes..." "John, do you like Susan?" "Yes, Munky, what are you doing..." "Great! You're a couple now!" And he walked away. Later that night, Munky looked down at his watch and said, "February 24th, that's a day to remember." And here we are, February 24th seven years later... I'll never forget 1998, but I've loved sharing my life with you each year thereafter :-)
