Literature Review

This short film depicts the entire cycle of life in a man's imagination and consciousness. Because the unpredictability and other expectations within these environmental situations, a person sees a particular event in his or her own way, saying one thing while others have different opinions on it. Because of these complex ideals and thinkings, the film is best shown in a rather stylised yet traditional look rather than the big digital effects to distinguish the technique that an artist wishes to portray in his personal observation. The concept of life comes from many forms of interpretation based on today and previous situations, conveying one of the many things people express and experience personally.

Objective

There are many main reasons for the creation of 'A Ray of Hope'; it is the most personal work (if not entirely) attempted by Glen B. Wang to distinguish his own style of animation and drawing techniques from others. Another thing that he ever hopes is to give a variety of styles and designs that many young filmmakers or designers can adopt to expand their knowledge on film and animation as well as to try more than just one primary animation technique. On other words, the theme of the movie would hopefully too give the audience a feeling of understanding their nature and the complexity of a human's/society's entire structure despite the creator's rather confusing and rather complex vision.

Methodology

'A Ray of Hope' is a chronicle of human experience based on observation on several movies, historical book notes, and other inspirational sources such as autographies of famous people, philosophical lectures and more by Glen B. Wang, ranging from the ordinary lives of a society to the rise of one principle to give the leaderless or scattered people a beneficial factor to build a civilisation. This aspect leads often leads to the destruction of another who has disturbing relationship with them and always never wish to intrude with their personal matters. It is also represents the exact same situation where many competitors of different fields struggle to achieve the highest goal to dominate all while those who are unable to catch on will perish. However, the minority must somehow do whatever they think is best and humane to survive the madness inflicted upon by superior leaders. Ultimately, human madness will fade away and the people who pray for an ordinary life wll be blessed with a ray of hope.
