On a dim and cloudy night, the screams of terror filled the black and frightful house. All of a sudden, you’re inside wondering around in panic. You see a dark figure up the staircase holding a sickle. You start running, screaming in hysteria. You scream for anyone, but no one is there. Then something taps you and you turn around. It's him, you're so terrified that you can't move and then...beep...beep...beep...beep. "Anna, wake up," exclaims your mother. "It was only a dream," you say as you strive to catch your breath. When you go downstairs your mother asks you how you've slept. "I had a nightmare," you articulate as you pour your cereal and wait for your toast. "What was it about?" persuaded your mother as she acquired a glass from the cupboard. "Hold on a minute, Austin get up!" "It was about this haunted house," you say tranquilly. "Ooh, a haunted house," verbalized your brother in an agitating tone. "Shut up!" you say in an intimidating voice, "I'm sure you've had your scares." "Only once, but...but...that was when I was little," Austin says. "It was two days ago and you were so scared that you wet the bed," you say in a mocking way. "All right, that is enough! You'll be late for school," your mom says. "Anna, don't forget your volleyball uniform." "Don't worry, I didn't," you say as you rush out the door. "See you later." "Bye mom," Austin says half ways to the bus. "See you later your mom says. When you get to school, you remember that your project was due. You don't know if you finished or not. So when you get to class your friend, Shannon, hauls you your unfinished project. You start panicking when your teacher comes in. Then, she says that she will give the class a half an hour to finish. You quit flustering and start working. You finally finish when your teacher strolls over and states out that you’ve made a astonishing project and you’ll probably get an A, but she’ll have to check. You start becoming cheery and then the bell ring for school to be over. Walking home with your friends, you detect this gargantuan, blackish- brown house. “Hey, look at that eerie house,” Shannon remarks. “Yeah it is pretty spooky, huh,” Farrah gets out. “I wonder if anyone lives there?” says a shaking Anna. “There’s only one way to find out,” says Farrah. “No way, you ain’t taking me in there.” Shannon breathes out. “Fine.” Farrah sighs. They walk home and as being Halloween eve they started working on their costumes at Shannon’s house. Anna wanted to go as Juniper, the princess. Shannon was going as the Gods angel, and Farrah as Venus, the queen. They were working extremely hard on their costumes to get done the next night. Anna’s costume was green with tints of blue and pink with a silver collar. Shannon’s costume was white and tints of silver with a golden halo. Farrah’s costume was red with sprays of orange and blue with a gold collar. Because Shannon’s mother had three extra sewing machines, they got done that night. As they finished Shannon’s mom called them to dinner. They ate homemade macaroni and cheese with hot dogs and pumpkin pie for desert. Once they were done each were so full they couldn’t get up if their lives depended on it. Shannon’s house was all decorated with orange and black lights, cobwebs in the bushes, pumpkins all over, their placemats and tablecloths on the tables, ghosts washcloths hanging from the ceiling, and costumes to resemble people dangling on the porch. Farrah and Anna’s house duplicated Shannon’s almost yet a few differences hung around. The two girls, Anna and Farrah called their mothers and asked if they were allowed to stay at Shannon’s if it was all right with her mom. They both said yes, for the girls to catch the bus to school from Shannon’s house, and for when they got back to call. After hanging up, the girls went upstairs and watched Halloweentown and Halloweentown 2. They finished watching that and it was time for bed at 10:00. They all slept peacefully and awoke to the alarm at 6:30. They got dressed and went downstairs for a hearty breakfast. Once the girls were done, they caught the bus to school. At school they presented their Halloween projects nervously. Once they started presenting, their jitters went away and they did a superb job. School went on like a rocket, and they jumped through excitedly, waiting for Halloween to begin and for them to go trick-or-treating. When Shannon, Farrah, and Anna got off the bus, they rushed to Shannon’s house. Farrah and Anna called their mother’s and devoured their supper consisting of meatloaf, corn, and chocolate pudding. They finished eating and altered into their costumes with one-hour left to Halloween. The girls got their pillow - cases and Shannon’s mom awarded them with four pieces of candy each. Finally, the bell chimed for trick- or- treating to initiate. They scrambled out the door and sprinted to the first house and collected candy. By the twentieth house, they approached an alleyway of an old, dark house. Upon the havoc of trick- or- treaters, the girls inhaled the aloofness of the house. “Wonder if anyone lives there?” Shannon asked. “There’s only one way to find out.” Farrah grinned. “No way, you ain’t taking me in there.” Anna remarked. “I already told you no before!” “Come on,” Farrah carped. “No way.” Shannon decided. Farrah lugged the two in and they started looking around the spooky house. “Okay, lets go now,” Anna recommended. “Oh, come on,” Farrah whined. Farrah tottered in the kitchen and all of a sudden Shannon and Anna heard a shattering shriek. Anna turned around and heard another frightful scream. She twirled back around and Shannon vanished. Anna started gaining goose bumps and she began shuddering in fright. She heard this thud, whipped around and saw this sinister figure up the staircase holding a sickle. Anna thought this was just like that dream she had. She began running, screaming in hysteria. She busted for the door, but something tapped her. She twisted around, it was him, she was so afraid she couldn’t budge and then she quivered. She couldn’t help it. Then, he uttered his chant… One by one, two by two, here I come, to get you! Plea…please don’t hurt me,” Anna cried. “Don’t worry,” he said. Shannon and Farrah burst out of the dreadful costume. “We won’t,” they chanted cracking up. “We got you good!” Anna was dumbfounded. “Don’t you ever do that again!” “We wouldn’t think of it,” jittered Farrah. “It’s Shannon’s turn next! Hahahahahaha.” “You wouldn’t dare,” pleaded Shannon. “I would never do that to you!” Anna smirked. The three girls collected their candy, proceeded home, Farrah and Anna called their mothers and the told them the hoax on Anna. From that day on, that made the most superlative bedtime story for any child poorly behaving toward their friends. They never forgot what they learned… never treat you friends appallingly because you never know when they will take revenge!
