Please take a moment out of your day to let our service men and women know how very much we support them at home and abroad, peace time and war time. Boost moral and put a smile on a face. If you are able, consider a donation or a care package. Our fighting forces are sacrificing much the least we can do is help provide a few comforts .. if you think a toothbrush and toothpaste is a comfort and not necessity ... uh huh ... dig deep and give as you can, we live in a lala land compared to where they are. Your generosity will not go unthanked.

MY PROMISE

I promise you dear soldier
to remember what you've done
all the sacrifices you have made
in battles lost and won.

I promise you dear soldier
that you will not have fought in vain
even when the years have come and gone
and only your tombstone does remain

I promise you dear soldier
a poppy I will wear
to show the world I'm proud of you
and that I will always care

I promise you dear soldier
to teach my children well
so that they will always remember
and to their children the stories tell

To you I make this promise
an oath straight from my heart
to never, ever forget you
and that in my life you have a part.

Lest that we forget
the terror that is war
and all that has been given
by those who fought before

Care Package Suggestions

The most popular items suggested for care packages and suggestions for compactibility and effeciency for handling by soldiers. When you haven't bathed in 3 or 4 days a trial size of anything is a blessing. These men are in the desert, think about it when you are selecting items to send.

Toilet Paper (TP) include a roll in each care package and make sure you get the really good stuff, don't be cheap.

Foot Powder - Feet live in boots and is a perfect environment for bacteria growth.

Shampoo, mouthwash, toothpaste, deoderant - I suggest the trial sizes. No, they won't get as much use from it as full size products, but with men on the move the smaller compact items are more efficient.

Soap - yes body wash is a lot nicer, but a bar of soap is much easier to carry along with you.

Chapstick - Remember they are in the desert!

Babywipes - A spit bath is better then no bath and clean hands before you eat helps prevent digestive illness.

Eye Drops - tired, dry eyes will thank you!

Lotions - skin care products with sunscreens is a good idea. Dry weathered skin will be thankful for the moisture.

Writing paper, pens, envelopes - Wives, Mom's, and GF's will thank you too.

Phonecards -I have been told AT&T phonecards work in Kuwait. There are places online to send phonecards but if you are sending a care package, reach over in the checkout line at Walmart and grab a couple of the $5 cards. They are good for 60 minutes.
