Highlander III- The Sorcerer

This movie was made to ignore the 2nd one (then why the hell is it called Highlander THREE?!). Connor Macleod (Lambert) is now in the year 1994, (still immortal apparently). He lives in Africa and has an adopted son called John. Out of nowhere his formal rival Kane, (Mario Van Peebles) who has broken away from being trapped under a collapsed ruin, goes out to hunt down Macleod in hopes of finally gaining the mystical prize. This is the final chapter of the Connor Macleod Trilogy.

***/5 stars

(Highlander 3- The Final Sorcering Magician) I went into this movie with low hopes (after all the negative reviews), but found that its actually quite enjoyable (more so for die hard fans). Lambert returns as Connor and does a fine job again. Gotta love Connor. This movie starts out with Connor training with the sorcerer immortal, Nakano (Mako) who is attacked in his cavern by the evil Kane and his 2 bitches. After Kane kills Nakano, he inherits his “Power of Illusion”, thus becoming the Sorcerer. Nakano’s head is still conscious enough to collapse the cavern (while having a massive quickening) and trap the 3 immortals for about 400 years. Did Connor never win the prize then? The point is never actually fixed and we are just left to asume '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' This movie is more or less a remake of the first. Many scenes are identical but with faster pace. Anyone expecting an amazing story out of this one is going to be disappointed (thus having such bad reviews). But as a sequel it does fine and its actually pretty enjoyable. The best scene in the movie (when Connor trains in Scotland) is just fantastic in many ways. Some of the special effects are mediocre but some are great. Just wait to the final quickening....you’ll find yourself saying “Fuck Yea!” many times over.

"Wheres the Porche?" "Porche? What Porche? Get in the car..................little punk"

What about Kane? The villain is just a groovy version of the Kurgan. But at least he’s pretty funny (and Much Better than Ironside's Katana). “Oh and you never wrote?” His power of Illusion is pretty cool and gives the final battle some original moments. Deborah Unger plays Alex, the hottest Highlander girl of them all (by far). This girl has a body to kill for. She does fine with what she has to work with. What about the sex scene though. I’m surprised it didn’t get a xxx rating. It was a bit tasteless but as a guy, I’m not complaining. My only beef is that it could have been so much more. The script for this film is dull but Connor and the music bring it to life. **(There’s actually an original script that’s MUCH better than this)**

In the end...

The ending leaves you with a sadness as you know that now its truly over. Connor’s story could have been so much more if it wasn’t for the second film. This movie is far better than HL2 and Endgame and its fun to watch. The movie is really ordinary, neither Really good or Really bad. Its just a normal movie. Since I enjoyed it, I gave it a “good” rating. There can be only one, and its Connor Macleod.
