Jaws

This movie is absolutely the best. Its sheer importance in film history is huge. The first “summer Blockbuster” and “Movie Event”. It was the first movie to ever pass the 100 Million mark and was nominated (and won) multi oscars. Its even arguable that it should have won best film (im one of those people). The few who have not seen this film think that its only famous because it was the “first” of the long list of “Man vs. Nature” movies and actually aint that great by today’s standards. They think that it was only good because it shocked people back then (sort of like “The Road Warrior”). Well all I have to say is WRONG MOTHER FUCKER! This guy claims to be a movie freak too. Thing is that there are many faggots these days who think the same way. I dont want to insult people but I cant stress enough how much I love this movie. Its just sheer brilliance by Spielberg. Get this....it actually scared the shit out of me! Not bad! The amazing first half where the shark hunts down its victims and the second when they have to kill it. They actually fight it for over an hour....but its just so damn exiting that you cant help to smile. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The music is just incredible. John Williams is the king (ive always said it). Just heart pumping and adrenaline rushing. I cant explain how if you’re used to seeing shit like “Anaconda” or “Lake Placid” (ugh). This movie does things that has been ripped off on and some things that has never been even tried again just because they are just to intimidated by its sheer brilliance.

The acting is just jaw dropping. Robert Shaw plays Quint, the World War 2 Veteran/ Fisherman. He absolutely had me everytime he opened his mouth. His scenes with Dreyfuss are filled with tension that you would not expect here. Brody is played also very well by Scheider. All their scenes are just magical: filled with humour, tension, and fear. I heard that the reason why all three were not nominated for best actor was simply because you couldn’t give the oscar to just one as all three had breakthrough performances here. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' This might be the greatest dialogue movie ever (or at least top 10). There is not one dull or boring moment here (even the dialogue “scene” in the boat is ranked among the greatest in film history). Shaw’s monologue hit very strong to the world it seems as it sends shivers down my spine when I hear it. All the other characters are perfectly cast too. Mayor Larry Vaughn (Hamilton) is charismatic and more than just a 1 dimensional character. Mrs. Brody does very well too. When we finally see the shark, were just freaked out of our minds as you now know what your really dealing with (i still remember the “Holy Shit” in my house when I was a kid). I do admit that it might look a bit fake at times but your just so into the movie that it doesnt matter (thank Spielberg for that). Common you cant get any better than “Your gonna need a bigger boat”. It just gets better and better everytime. Really a classic. The Shark circling the boat looked great too. Scenes like the “cage” scene also had everyone pissing themselves. I remember how much fun I had watching this.

Oh and if the whole movie wasnt enough, I dont think Ill ever forget the ending. It has to rank as maybe the most incredible, edge of your seat, “Holy fucking shit!” ending Ive ever seen (and thats saying something). Its still argued if it is Spielberg’s best work. I still dont know how he did it. I mean, the entire time he was plagued with production problems (weather, Shark not working, budget) and its a film thats compared to Shindler’s List...........a fucking Shark Movie! I gotta give the guy props for that. Great job man. One of them (Jaws 2) is actually pretty damn good. The rest are pure shit (Well, Jaws: Revenge was bad but it was atleast hilarious to watch). But this is the real shit. The best monster movie of all time. Nuff Said.
