Now that you have connected to Arbornet.org, you should see something like this. Go ahead and create a new account by typing newuser.

A series of screens will come up. Press spacebar to advance though these screens, then answer the questions. Your username is the name you will log in to arbornet.org with. It can be any one word name (no spaces or special characters). Then your full name, then the password you want (must be at least 5 characters) This is a sample:

For the shell you want, menu (the default choice) doesn't really let you get into Unix. It provides you with a menu to help you move around. You can choose this if you want it, but remember that this site will only guide you through the normal shell (bash, ash, csh, etc.). You can change these settings later, so don't spend more than 5 minutes here.

If the system is very busy, you might have to try again later. Telnet to cyberspace.org instead (Note: cyberspace.org is much slower than arbornet.org).
