Chess Lessons

• Lessons include instruction from recent tournament games played to the games played by famous grandmasters
• Opening comprehension, middle game planning, and an end game training course that will allow the students to become better prepared in tournament play
• Blitz games and/or normal games will be played and analyzed with the instructor to view the student's progress and help aid in his or her weaknesses

Thanks for joining the home of expert chess player and city renowned teacher Kyle Jones. Kyle Jones is currently the reigning 2003 Ohio State High School Chess Champion and will be representing the state of Ohio in the Denker Tournament of State Champions held in Los Angelos in the summer of 03. His playing career began in his 3rd grade year and has grown to national level contention. Over the years Kyle has ammassed 5 national champion individual titles and 6 state champion individual titles. As a team member of Winterset Elementary, Dominion Middle School, and Columbus Alternative High School, Kyle has been able to be on 13 state champion teams and 6 national champion teams. Kyle's playing career has been impressive and has earned him the spot as the highest rated player in Columbus Public School History, after he became an expert his sophomore year. Currently, Kyle is a coach at both the Ecole Kenwood school and Ridgeview Middle School. In particuliar, Kyle has helped Ridgeview with a City Championship, 2 State Runner-Up finishes, and top 3 finishes at the US Junior Congress. As a private teacher, Kyle has helped furnish 4 players into state champions, several city champions, and a US Junior Congress Champion.
