Friends,
A group from ETO hosted a booth at the Naperville Take Back the Night event
earlier this evening. Since the theme was Domestic Violence, we took the
stand that Home Destruction = Domestic Violence and created a large table
banner to state that, in the CAT colors of gold and black.

The booth looked great with pictures showing CAT bulldozers in various stages
of destroying Palestinian homes, along with emotional pictures of the
homeowners dealing with the aftermath. Handout materials on ETO and the CAT
campaign/postcards were available and there were approximately 20-30 people
who picked up handouts. In addition, there were some folks who completed CAT
postcards at the table so they'll be mailed shortly. Overall, it was a
success in terms of getting the ETO name into the community and becoming more
visible.

In addition, US Representative Judy Biggert was the keynote speaker at the
event. Once she was finished speaking, Sharon Nabhan approached Judy as a
representative of ETO Dupage and provided her with all the handouts
available. Sharon mentioned that our group had been trying to get an
opportunity to meet with her and discuss our concerns as voters in her area,
but had little success. Judy seemed to recognize the ETO name and was under
the impression that her people had been in touch with ours. Judy took the
handouts and stated she would be more available when this session of Congress
was finished.

Since this dialog seemed to make an impression on Judy, this may be an
opportunity to once again follow up with her office to inquire about a
delegation going to her, or inviting her to a potluck to hear our concerns.
We may get more response this time (election year and all)....

Let's discuss at next potluck on who can follow up with her office.
Peace,
Laila
