Anti-Semitic vandalism should be wake-up call

The recent incident of anti-Semitic vandalism in Naperville should be a wake-up call to our entire community and even to our nation.

Anti-Semitism is on the rise globally, and as Christians we are saddened and appalled to see history apparently repeating itself. It is time that we raise our voices in support of our Jewish friends and neighbors and against hate crimes of any kind.

As America leads the world in the fight against terrorism, it is more important than ever that we set an example of peace and tolerance. We pray that this incident will be the catalyst for renewed commitment to fight bigotry and prejudice in our schools, churches and communities. Let's not allow the ugliness of anti-Semitism to stain the very fabric of our society any further.
