Star of the week
This week, the star is none other than cyanide. This happy little molecule is one of natures coolest poisons. As posted by the CDC; Exposure irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Symptoms are burning and redness for the skin and eyes. Inhalation causes confusion, drowsiness and shortness of breath, leading to collapse. The substance can affect the central nervous system, resulting in impaired respiratory and circulatory functions. Exposure can be fatal.
As far as I know, it was put in little tablets and given to CIA agents, allowing them to kill themselves incase of capture. A source of mine claims it was also given to random people by pranksters. The people were told they were jellybeans, and hilarity ensued.
I salute your deadly ways cyanide. Godspeed.
