At the time I am going into 8th grade at Horner Juniot High School. I do many activites outside of school during the school year, too.
I do competitive swimming at Club Sports on the Flying Fish Team. I've been swimming since I was about 8 months old. I really enjoy it but it's hard work. Everyone on the team must come to practice 4 times a week and we usually have meets(competitions) once a month.
I am part of a group that raises guide dogs for the blind. We raise the puppy and teach it all the basic commands and then, if accepted, the puppies go to formal trainers. They go on from there to become guide dogs who help blind people in their everyday life.
The dance style that I do is called kathak. It is an Indian dance form that centers around teh movement of the whole body, though there is a lot of foot movement. I go every Saturday for classes.
Percussion is oftem mistaken to be just the different types of drums, but it also includes of piano, mallets, timpanis, and chimes. I am in band at school and play percussion there. Also, every Friday I stay in school for about an extra hour and most of the percussionists play. We have done many competitions too.
