Katar Hol is part of the Thangarian police force. His people assigned him and his wife, Hawkgirl, to study the police forces of Earth. As a trained detective he has phenomenal powers of observation, deeply impressive to Bruce Wayne. Later as a member of Jack Kent's Team Titans, the timeline-shifting crisis called Time's Doom merged Katar with Carter Hall's soul, who adopted the Hawkman persona until the two were eventually separated, leaving Katar to fly solo again. Unfortunately, Hawkman was killed by the Anti-Monitor during the Crisis of Infinite Earths.
