Earth 3 was a "reversed" Earth. The counterparts of the five core members of the Justice League were villains known as the Crime Syndicate, and Lex Luthor was the hero who opposed them. (Other aspects were also reversed - actor Abraham Lincoln shot president John Booth, for example.) After, the Earth V Adam Kelly and Dr. Geyser came to Earth DC it split into this Earth. Earth 3 was destroyed in the opening pages of Crisis on Infinite Earths.
