II: Warning in the
Blue Room:
“What the hell is
all of this?” Spike asked. When did everything get so fancy? The bright blue
nearly blinded him. White marble from the floor and pillars made it that much
more intense. White candelabras, vases, and pots decorated an altar and stairs
leading to the window. Where did all of these statues come from? Renaissance in
blue best described this room. The view from the windows showed the couple the
ocean. A pool in the middle of the room reflected the bright blue sky and clouds
painted on the ceiling. Sakura stared into the strange room with a blank stare.
“Miguel?” she said.
“Huh?” Spike asked.
The tenshi-chi walked into the room.
“Sakura?” the cowboy
asked. She walked over to a white couch sitting around the room. The tenshi-chi
stopped in her tracks. A man in a white suit lifted his head.
“Oh good, you made
it,” he said. Spike reached for his gun with a puzzled look on his face. Who was
she talking to?
“Sakura?” he asked.
She couldn’t hear him behind her.
“What are you doing
here?” the tenshi-chi asked. The man looked over her shoulder at Spike. He had
to make this quick.
“Listen to me,”
Miguel said. “Listen to me and don’t say a word.” Sakura closed her mouth. She
was thinking about asking why when he held up his hand.
“Just listen,” he
said. The man lowered his hand and took a breath.
“Thank you,” he
said. Miguel paced himself to say this as quickly and easily as possible.
“You both are in
grave danger,” he said. The man put up his hand again.
“Just listen. An old
piece of me has woken up and he’s looking for you,” he explained. Sakura
narrowed her eyes.
“What do you mean?
Why?” she asked. Spike tried to make out what they were saying. He couldn’t hear
a thing nor could he see who his wife was talking to. Meanwhile, Miguel looked
at the cowboy trying to get a better look. He tried to think of a way to make
this go faster.
“He heard your
soul,” Miguel said. He noticed the air around the room start to shimmer. Shit.
The man needed to make this go faster.
“I can’t explain it
all here. I will just have to show you,” he said. Sakura was about to open her
mouth when he touched her on the forehead. Her body tensed up as she felt a jolt
running through it. Her eyes went blank.
“Sakura!” Spike
shouted. He ran over and grabbed her by the arm. He too felt a jolt run through
his body. His eyes went blank as flashes of images jumped through his head.
What the… What the
hell is this?
Miguel looked up
when he heard a high-pitched whistle in the distance.
“Huh?” he asked.
Suddenly, he was snatched up into the air and vanished. With him, the room
shimmered and faded away. The couple collapsed to the ground.
Miguel didn’t get
time to deliver the whole message. Spike came along and broke into pieces. Even
though, Sakura didn’t have what he could give. The couple had part of his
message between them.
The man appeared in
an abandoned warehouse and landed on the ground with a thud. He should’ve known
this would happen. Miguel drew his eyes closed.
I wish you luck, the both of you.
