He scanned the oncoming traffic, trying to figure out how to time it so that he could get an adrenaline rush and make it without doing too much damage to his craft. Flooring it, he screeched out of the driveway and into the teeming swarm that was civilian traffic. Heero couldn’t comprehend why anyone would want to go so slow, and impatient, started weaving in and out of traffic, trying to get ahead of the slowpoke that always seemed to be in front of him. Exasperated, he took his next right, and found himself on a deserted street.
Duo’s babbling was driving him nuts, and the urge to turn around and severely injure the boy was strong. In retaliation, he forced the outdated corvette to go from 5 mph to 100 in 2.3 seconds. The ex-pilot heard his instructor writing something on her clipboard as he tore around the corner on two wheels. Ahead the street he was following dead-ended into another street, passing perpendicular to it. Deciding it was time to show off his parallel parking skills, Heero floored the gas, and then jammed on the break at the last second, causing the car to spiral out of control, and into the spot that he had aimed for.
He turned his head to see how his passengers had fared, but more specifically to see the braided boy that had driven him crazy for not only the last few minutes, but for almost as long as he could remember. Glaring Prussian met innocent cobalt, and then they were back on the street again, Heero running a red light just to see if he could get through the traffic that was crossing perpendicular to his route.
Duo had started prattling aimlessly again, even though Quatre had grabbed hold of both Trowa’s and Duo’s knees to either brace himself, or out of sheer terror, it wasn’t quite clear. Trowa, his arm wrapped around the blond, stared out of the window impassively at the passing cars and glowering drivers. Heero, deciding that he had filled all the requirements on the sheet and convinced he had passed them all with flying colors, started back for the deserted parking lot.
However, Duo’s voice kept on pulling his concentration from the road, dangerous in any case, but even more dangerous with the way Heero was driving. Therefore, in order to get his point across, he turned around and proceeded to stuff the American’s braid into Duo’s mouth. However, as he was doing so, he heard Quatre scream, “Watch out, Heero!” There was the sickening sound of screeching brakes and splintering glass.
Heero stood next to the wrecked Corvette, staring down the driver of the tractor-trailer. Behind him, Trowa and Quatre were pulling Duo out of the charred remains. He had escaped with nothing more than a gash above his left eye; even now he was joking with the blond that seemed to be in shock. Heero won the staring contest, and turned on his heel to go to where Noin was leaning against the building.
Wordlessly, she tore off the sheet from her clipboard and passed it to the stoic boy. He read it once before crumpling it in his hand. Not for the first time he was glad that he had the forethought to hack into the DMV’s computers. According to the records held by that agency, he had been licensed for over a year now, as Hisoka Yasahiro. It had been Quatre’s innocence that had suggested they all take their driving tests together. As a result of that simple request, the Corvette had been wrecked, Duo was hurt, and Quatre seemed to be slightly in shock. Oh well, at least Hisoka was licensed to take the braided boy to the hospital to get stitches, since Hisoka had passed driver’s ed and the driving test.

Note: I know, I know, Duo is supposed to be the maniacal driver, but I believe that Heero would drive similarly for the adrenaline rush. If needed, the psychotic boy can drive normally, and responsibly, at least more so than Duo…but, oh well…. one can dream, ne?
