The White Page

This is written solely by Brent van der Linden.   He put his trust in me and allowed me to publish this poem on my website.  I would be very hurt if anyone were to break that trust and take it. 

The page is empty
The sheet is white
There is nothing written on it
but the souvenir printed in my memory
of the image of a face
drawn on the paper
Yet there is still nothing
but an invisible face that turns to me
and smiles at me
No, there is nothing written, nothing at all
nor drawn
but it pleases me to look
at your face
that smiles at me
from this white page
from this empty sheet.
