Disclaimer: I don't own the Gundam Wing boys. Apparently neither does Bandai because they are now officially property of my 3 year old baby sister. They're her "guys" and she says she doesn't want to share. Then again she also calls Wing a horsee.

And everyone on GWFF and Love TQ that liked Teddy Bear enough to give me feedback and ask for sequals/sidefics^_^
"Duo! Give it back!" Quatre demanded, stomping his Sorels [1] clad foot into the snow. Quatre was wearing a dark green ski jacket and matching ski pants. His scarf, toque [2] and mitts were a navy blue so dark they were almost black. They perfectly matched the Sorels Quatre's feet were encased in.
"No! Not until you tell me how to do the string through the neck trick." Duo said as he held a navy blue mitt over his head. Duo wore a black parka with fake white fur lining the hood. His ski pants were a shade or two lighter than Quatre's. His feet were covered in a pair of slightly big black winter boots. His earmuffs and mitts were both a dusty charcoal.
"He's showing the whole class after lunch Duo. Quit picking on him." Wufei told him flatly before turning his attention back to keeping a look out for the teachers. The boys had strayed over to the "Out of Bounds" area of the school yard. Their teacher was out monitoring today and if she caught them by the river, heaven help them.
The out of bounds area was a place where the taller grass and weeds grew getting closer to the river bank. The boy's elementary school was built next to a particularly old river that meandered and curved a great deal. The river's bank was marked by bushes and trees as well as wild prairie grasses. This area was considered out of bounds for the students and for good reason. Although the river was old the spring provided a very perilous, turbulent water flow which gouged steep river banks. Many students enjoyed making this more wooded area their playground rather than the play structures provided by the school.
The schools actual playground sat close by the school but there was also a two football/soccer fields and a few baseball diamonds on the school property. The result was that the school's "backyard" stretched far beyond the playground, where the grass was no longer mowed served as a off limits border. In theory keep this kept the child away from the river. That however, was not always the case.
"Duo just give him back his mitt. He'll show us later." Heero sighed. Heero and Wufei wore painfully similar outfits. Both had the exact same winter jacket, a simple jacket with a hood, in the exact same blue. Where Heero's ski pants were green Wufei's were black. They both had black boots, mitts and hats. Being the same height, from behind the two looked almost interchangeable.
"Give it back!" Quatre declared and lunged for the braided boy. The resulting tussel in the snow put the sought after mitt on the edge of a snow drift.
"I can't believe you face washed [3] me!" Duo wailed as he brushed snow off his cold, pinkened cheeks.
"You started it." Quatre retorted.
"Quatre be careful." Wufei warned.
"I'm OK." Quatre replied.
The blonde stepped into the snow drift precariously close to the edge of the river bank. Quatre took another step, his hand reaching for his mitt and then he was gone. Quatre's shriek mingled with the other boys distressed wails as the blonde landed with a thump and a puff of snow. Quatre landed right on his backside, the blonde's legs were stretched out in front of him and he sat rather stunned, dusted in a fine sheen of snow.
"Quatre! Are you-" Trowa's panicked voice was cut off by laughter that bubbled up over the lip of the river bank.
"That was so cool!" Quatre gasped and flailed his arms madly. He squinted [4] up at his friends and grinned. "What's a matter? Chicken?"
"HA!" Duo declared.
The longhaired boy bounced over to the edge and plopped himself down at the river bank. He slowly eased himself over the edge. The wind rushed around his face making his bangs flutter. A sprinkling of snow flew into his face, more specifically up his nose. Duo landed a few feet from Quatre with a thump in soft white powder.
"Man, that was awesome!" Duo cried and then a blank look came over his usually cheerful features. "Ah, Quatre, how do we get back up?"
"Over there, where the trees are. We can use them to climb back up." Quatre said gesturing to a section a little further up the bank where a clump of "trees" were tangled together.
Some were trees that had fallen sideways as the river bank was chewed away by the river. The rest were bushes that clung to the banks of the river and dying roots exposed by the erosion of the river bank. That section of river bank was slightly less steep then the boys exciting new amusement. Both boys scrambled up the bank in an effort to reach the top first.
"I win!" Duo declared.
"UGH! My mitt is all full of snow now! Duo, it's all your fault!" Quatre cried then pounced on the brunette's back.
Duo staggered from the weight but managed to keep himself upright. As soon as Duo had righted himself he was shoved hard in the side. He stumbled then fell, bringing Quatre with him. The two boys in the snow blinked in surprise while Heero and Wufei tried to smoother their snickers. Trowa however, loomed over them looking quite pleased with himself.
"Oh! We're soooooo gonna get you for that!" Quatre stated as he and Duo shook the snow of off themselves. The pair grinned at Trowa as they got up from their prone positions and began to advance on him. Trowa was poised to run when a loud buzzing sound carried from the school.
"Dang," Duo muttered. "Recess is over."
The boys hurried towards the school joining the bottle-necking throng working it's way into the doors.
Recess the next day.
"Hey Wufei, is she watching us?" Duo asked as he tossed some snow in Heero's direction.
"Nope. Looks like some second graders are fighting by the swings. Let's go!" Wufei said and lead the charge to their new play ground. He was the first to plummet into the snow. Duo, Heero and Quatre followed next side by side. Trowa only hesitated for a moment before he dropped down next to them. The tallest of the boys scrunched up his nose for a moment then sighed.
"What's wrong Trowa?" Heero asked dusting snow off himself.
"It didn't really work like I thought it would." Trowa replied standing and showing the "it" to his friends. "It" happened to be a neon orange frisbee.
"What were you trying to do?" Wufei asked taking the frisbee from Trowa and flipping it over in his hands.
"I was gonna use it like one of those saucer toboggan thingees." Trowa replied.
"Hey that's a pretty good idea. Can I try?" Duo asked.
"It didn't really work that good but OK." Trowa said then handed the braided boy the frisbee.
Duo scrambled up the bank frisbee in hand. Once at the top he placed himself on the frisbee as well as he could and scooted over the edge. He landed in the snow and scrunched up his nose for a moment before looking to Trowa.
"Did it make your bum hurt too?" Duo asked.
"Yeah. It doesn't work that good." Trowa replied and rubbed his butt with his hands.
"Come on guys! Slide with me and Wufei." Quatre cried, arms flapping in an attempt to get the attention of the other boys from where he stood on the river bank.
"We're coming." Heero said and began to climb up the bank. The boys laughed loudly as the slide down the bank again and again.
"HEY!" Heero cried. "Recess is over!"
"Huh?" The other four boys grunted.
"We're gonna be late!" Wufei wailed and scrambled up the side of the bank the other three right on his heels.
The boys were panting by the time they made it to the tether ball polls. They were just behind the last few stragglers going into the school.
"Hey. I wonder how far I can throw this?" Duo mused then threw the frisbee with all his might.
The orange disc flew through the air and connected squarely with the tether ball poll. On contact it exploded sending bright orange bits of plastic flying in all directions. The five boys could only stare stupidly at the pieces of frisbee now littering the ground.
"Uh..... We're gonna be late." Wufei said, moving to go through the school doors.
"Monsieur Roy is gonna kill me for breaking the frisbee." Trowa moaned and then glared at a wincing Duo.
"It's ok. I'll go with you when you tell him. I don't think he'll get real mad." Quatre said as they made their way up the stairs to their classroom.
"You know what?" Wufei said, stopping. "We need to name it."
"Name what?" Duo asked, nearly stepping into the Chinese boy.
"Our sledding place. It needs a name." Wufei replied matter of factly.
"How about Duo's Drop of Terror?" Duo asked, wiggling exuberantly.
"That's dumb." Heero stated flatly.
"Hey! I found it! It should be Quatre's Drop of Terror." Quatre declared.
"That's still dumb." Heero said.
"Fine then! If it's so dumb what do you think we should call it?" Duo challenged, sticking his tongue out at Heero.
"Thunder Mountain." Was Heero's shy reply.
"Hey!" The other four boys declared. "That's cool."
And thus Thunder Mountain was born.
[1] I don't know if they have Sorels any where else but Canada but they are the best winter boots known to mankind!
[2] It's not a beanie or a hat damn it! It's a toque! *cough* No I'm not Canadian... No, no......^_^
[3] Grab a handful of snow and "wash" the person's face with it. Hence, face wash.
[4] In Teddy Bear I established that Quatre had glasses. I figured he probably wouldn't wear them outside during the winer because it's simply too much of a pain in the ass when you can't see for five minutes when you come in from the cold. Or at least that's my story.^__^
Note: Alas, I was not there when Thunder Mountain was discovered. That was the work of K and her goons but I did reap the benefits of playing on the river and getting snow up my nose. Thunder Mountain was such a grand success we were quickly busted when nearly half the playground tried to sneak off and play there. *sigh* It's the middle of summer and I suddenly have the urge to go tobbogganing.
You all thought I had purged my Chibi demon didn't you? Sorry but there's still more a comin'^___^
