>>Upon entering the well-lit tavern, one would find the bar straight ahead, a goodly number of sturdy stools waiting for patrons to settle down upon. On either side of the clear path to the bar lay tables for seating of small groups. All bottles of alcohols were stored in special racks beneath the bar, with easy access only to the tender/tendress, along with the entrance to the kitchen where meals and other, non-alcoholic drinks were kept. >>To the far left of the tavern, a large couch and cushioned chairs rest in a semi-circle around an always-blazing hearth, filling the entire tavern with warmth, and oft times, the soft scents of flowers from the oils or powders tossed into it. Often, this area was guarded by the tavern's resident cat, Mr. Tinkles. >>To the right lay a curtained entrance leading to the infamous aquarium built by Bazil Goldenclaw, where beautiful corals grow and aquatic creatures dwell, their colors shimmering in the rectangular pool. The resident shark, Lily, also swam those waters, a tame friend to Baz and certain others. Benches rested along all the walls, for visitors to sit and gaze at life usually only seen in tropical climes. >>Washrooms lay to the far back and left of the tavern, one each for men and women, the doors aptly labeled to show which washroom was for which gender. Beside those washrooms rested the stairs that access the second floor, where guest rooms lay for use by those wishing a longer stay. |

>>This floor held the guest rooms that were often let out to friendly visitors and guest-members of Somerled. Directly opposite the stairs lay the storage closet, where linens and cleaning materials could be found, and to each side of the closet were the rooms, each equivalent in size and aptly labeled as L or R, depending on which way you must turn once arriving upon the second floor. >>Each room was beautifully furbished, holding a rather large bed with finely woven linens of earthy colors, though others could be requested. Two armoires and a large bureau of many drawers provided places to store items and/or clothing, and a small desk held writing utensils and paper. On the far wall of each room were large windows that opened up either to the forest behind the tavern, or out to the road, depending on the facing of the window. Each room also had a small, private washroom for its residents, washroom stocked with salts and oils for bathing, as well as fluffy towels and the essentials for proper hygeine. |
