The Author's Choice page showcases the stories the writers themselves have selected as their favorite piece - whether because it's their best-written, most challenging, most popular or any of a dozen other reasons.
Louise Wu,
of X-Files fanfiction fame, came up with the original idea and graphics for the X-Files
Author's Choice site. I'd like to thank her for her kind
permission to reproduce them both for this website.

Last
Round
Fall 2001
All my Andromeda slash is Tyr/Harper. I find the pairing requires a lot of
work, given their reactions to one another. This story is quieter than the
others. It hints at a relationship developing after their capture by the
Magog. There's a bond and some kind of sustained respect.

Exchange
March
2002
I've only written 3 Andromeda fics. This one is better cause it's funnier, and
I do funny much better than I do homoerotic.

Sex
as Power - A Man Game
November
2001
An author's greatest fear - a rejected story; but with the rejection came challenge. Do you write slash? What about Ares?
"Sex As Power" takes two beautiful men (one is a virgin) combines them with drinks, drugs, leather and handcuffs and initiates a crossover series. My first, their first, enjoy!
Moonloon
Breaking
Out
April
2002
My longest fic so far. Also my first serious attempt at a plot-driven story. I
was surprised at how easily the words come out once I got into it, the while
thing flowed out without any major problems. Wow.

Will
to Power I: The Hour of Great Contempt
February 2001
This
was interesting to write because even though it's very much AU, we try to
incorporate as much of canon as we can. The story took us on some strange
twists and turns. It also possessed us since almost all of it (143K) was
written in one week. Never argue with a determined Nietzschean. ;)

In
the Kitchen
I'm submitting "In the
Kitchen" because it really challenged me. I didn't expect it to be so
involved or so long as I usually write little PWPs but I'm glad I stuck with it
and I'm more than pleased with the end result.

Three Eyes
Open
Waiting
in the Dark
2002
My favorite for
several reasons. Positive feedback, requests for a sequel. Even though
it's an R-rated quick fic, it exemplifies the saying that the mind is the most
important sexual organ. It has an erotic edge that even many NC-17 works lack.
Tosca
Hypothermia
October 2002
An Andromerotica
Festival challengefic that evolved from short, quick smut into a
very long, much more thoughtful piece (with smut). It took me ages and
bucketloads of blood, sweat and tears to write, and though I was often tempted
to give up, the end result makes me glad I didn’t.
Vesper
Hunting
Harper
March 2002
At the time I wrote this Vesper was my secret identity: the place where my
dark impulses could fly free. I get a buzz out of cutting loose with Vesper,
and writing this fic in first person made it so much more intense.
Viridian5
Raveling
March 2002
While the Median series has been all about my muse giving me happy surprises,
"Raveling" showed this the strongest. When the show gave me a major,
annoying setback to my plans, my muse managed to not only pick up the ball but
get over 100K just out of that.
