Oie. Bath. Hmm.. So after Stonehendge we went to Bath. It was pretty. It was, in fact, the most memorable part of the trip (in many respects). We started out at some huge semi-circular building that was supposedly important (i dunno, but I have a picture). This is where the whole picture/car incident happened (the first time). Lisa was trying to take a picture of Chris, and I was standing there, Chris was walking backwards so Lisa could take the picture, but he failed to see the car that nearly impaled him. Very funny. "See, this is the car, before it hit him"..
Anywho. From there, the whole group went to the Roman Baths, (actually, first we dropped our stuff at the hotel and discovered who had the suite room). The Baths were really neat (but only in groups of 3). The Roman Baths had a major impact on the trip. It's difficult to word, so i don't know that i'll try. Things were a lot clearer leaving the Bath then they were upon it's entry.
SO...after the Baths, Chris, Sandra, and I went out on the town. (Sandra is another chaperone...yes, me and two chaperones...were they worried?) We headed toward the Bath Abbey...haha...it's just not the same anymore. It was beautiful, and we should know, we sat and admired the Abbey for quite some time. (You have to know the hysterics i'm in as i type this). So, we were there, then we went to a coffee shop in Bath. We wandered and found a really neat bookstore where we all spent a lot of money... actually, I spent a lot of money, but that's because I had cash...I got it back later. So we shopped, then finally, when it was cold, went back to the hotel to change for dinner and drop off our shopping.
*sigh* (i stole it for a moment). So we hung out at the hotel for awhile and got ready for dinner. Um...did i mention we got ready for dinner? Okay, well, we finally left for dinner, Lisa, Sandra, Chris, and I. We went to a restaurant and it was really good food... we laughed a lot. We talked, we had fun. Then we got lost. It was okay, we found a map in a tourist station...ha... so much for trusting SOMEONE'S sense of direction. (I'm only teasing). Anyway, it was the most incredible night. A full moon (not the last), and a perfect clear sky. As we walked past the Abbey on our way to the hotel, there was a flute player on the steps... it was a memory i can never forget. It didn't matter that it was cold, or that we only slightly knew where we were, all that mattered was the atmosphere. It was almost unreal.
So, we went back to the hotel and planned to meet Sandra and Lisa in their room to play cards in about 10 minutes. 45 minutes late, but the plan still went through. We played cards for a good while, and then finally took a "break" though never ended up coming back.
Bath was a place to remember.
