The Secret of Platform 13 is an excellent book for anyone who likes fantasy. The story begins on The Island, where tons of mythical beings live. The way to get to this island is to go through the gump, which is behind old Platform 13's door, which is always deserted. The gump opens every 9 years for 9 days at a time. During one of those 9 day periods, the prince of the island is kidnapped! So the people have to wait 9 years for the rescuers to be able to go rescue their prince. The gump finally opens again, and the rescuers leave. The one thing the people didn't count on is that their prince had been spoiled by his kidnapper! And he doesn't want to go home! This is an excellent story with a surprise twist. For more fantasy, look for an upcoming review on Which Witch? (same author!)
