Aragorn
Son of Arathorn and heir of Isildur, Aragorn was a Ranger chieftain of the Dunedain of the north. He grew up in Rivendell with the name Estel to disguise his true lignage while the Dark Lord, Sauron's, forces sought out the last heir of Isildur. Aragorn was a skilled tracker and legendary huntsman. When the group lacked Gandalf's guidance he became the leader of the Fellowship. After the War of the Ring, Aragorn and Arwen wed and became King of the reuntied lands of Gondor and Arnor.

Arwen
Arwen Evenstar was the daughter of Elrond and Celebrian, she was most beautiful of all Elves and was of the same beauty as Luthien Tinuviel. She dwelled in Lothlorien, the homeland of her mother, where she fell in love with Aragorn, who she had first met in Rivendell. After the War of the Ring Arwen chose to wed Aragorn and die as a mortal in Middle-Earth, in doing so she became queen of the reunited lands of Arnor and Gondor. After the death of her husband, she retreated to Lothlorien and dyed there the next winter. Her name, Arwen, means "Noble Maiden".

Bilbo
Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit ventures to the Lonely Mountain with thirteen dwarves and Gandalf in a quest to recapture the dwarves' gold from Smaug, the dragon. It was during this journey that Bilbo encountered Gollum and came into possesion of the One Ring, which he held for sixty years until he passed it onto Frodo, on his eleventy-first birthday. He wrote of his adventures in a book titled There and Back Again. Bilbo retired to Rivendell where he continued adding information to his diaries research papers in a larger tome which would become known as theRed Book of Westmarch.

Boromir
Warrior, heir of Denethor II and brother of Faramir, Boromir represented Gondor in the Fellowship. He thought that the Ring should be used defend Gondor, but his greed eventually caused the breaking of the Fellowship. Bromir was killed by orcs in the woods at the foot of Amon Hen while protecting Merry and Pippin.

Denethor II
Lord of Minas Tirith, the city from which Gondor, Denethor II was the father of Boromir and Faramir. He was a strongwilled ruler but when he used the palantir in the Tower of Ecthelion, attempting to view the Dark Lord's forces, Sauron filled the seeing stone with images that drove Denethor mad, leading to his death and almost to his son's, Faramir.

Elrond
Master of Rivendell and Arwen's father, Elrond Half-Elven was Middle-earth's greatest loremaster. At the time of his Council, he had been alive for over six thousand years and taken part in many important events in the history of Middle-earth, including the battle of the Last Alliance, when Sauron lost the One Ring. It was at his house that the Fellowship was formed.

Eowyn
Eowyn was the niece of Theoden, King of Rohan. She was raised as his daughter after the death of her parents. She learned how to wield a sword, and was as good at riding as any of Rohan's Riders. Eowyn rode in disguise to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and felled the King of the Nazgul, narrowly escaping death from the blow he delt her. She recovered in the Houses of Healing in Gondor, where she met her future husband, Faramir.

Faramir
Faramir was the youngest son of Denethor II. He was the last Steward of Gondor after his father and older brother, Boromir, died. Faramir received several strange dreams leading up to his brother's journey to Rivendell prior to the forming of the Fellowship. Though he was a very peaceful man, when called to defend his homeland, Faramir was a valiant warrior. After nearly dying from wounds suffered in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, he met Eowyn of Rohan, whom he fell in love with and married.

Frodo
Frodo Baggins was a courageous and determined hobbit and the quiet hero of the War of the Ring. He was Bilbo's young cousin and heir. When Bilbo retired to Rivendell, Frodo inherited the One Ring along with the sword, Sting, and a mail shirt of mithril. The Fellowship was formed to help Frodo on his journey to bring the One Ring to Mount Doom and destroy it. He later became mayor of the Shire and, when he was quite old, travelled to the Grey Havens with Bilbo.

Galadriel was a high elven queen of Lothlorien, where she lived with her husband Celeborn. She was most powerful of the wood-elves and held oen of the Three Rings of power, Nenya. IT was forged at the same time as the One Ring and kept the elf kingdom safe from the wrath of Sauron. When the Fellowship stayed in Lothlorien, Galadriel gave gifts to each member, among which was a phial of light to guide Frodo. She sailed, later, to Valinor as the time of the elves ended in Middle-earth. Her name means "radiantly crowned maiden". Galadriel is also Arwen Evenstar's grandmother.

Gandalf
Gandalf the Grey was one of five wizards of immortal race who took on the forms of old men to come to Middle-earth and challenge teh powers of evil. He traveled far and wide and was friend to everyone. It was Gandalf who first investigated the growing evil at Dol Guldur in Mirkwood and determined that Sauron was rebuilding his power. Gandalf was also known to Bilbo Baggins, before their adventure, as a wonderful storyteller and throughout the Shire as an excellent maker of fireworks. He was the leader of the Fellowship of the Ring and was often looked to for guidance and counsel during the War of the Ring.
