Tasogare ni se o Mukete {one of Hiei's songs}
Series: Yu Yu Hakusho Name: Hiei Alias: None Age: unknown, anywhere from 500-1,000 Hair: Black with white starburst in front Eyes: Crimson; Jagan is violet Dress: Rarely will you find Hiei in regular human clothing. Hiei prefers his black outfit with his multitude of belts or straps. A majority of the time when he's relaxed, he'll wear a long black cloack and a white scarf {not to mention covering his jagan with a white band}. On occassion, however, Hiei recognizes that he has to be especially presentable and make a good impression. He;s far from wealthy, but dresses like a noble. He'll often wear a very nice tunic with his black pants and a nice top underneat. Usually when Hiei fights, it'll be topless, but in some occassions he has a sleeveless shirt, usually blue. However, ut usually gets ripped or burned off anyway so he might as well be topless. Yummy. Hiei's shoes vary from boots to slip-ons with wraps. He'll wrap his ankles in black or white wrappings...as well as wrap his right hand to "seal" his black dragon. Special note: Hiei's right hand was paralyzed the first time he called the Black Dragon. It was badly burned and scarred and caused him a considerable amount of pain. However, it was soon healed and he was able to use his hand again, but kept it wrapped either to hide the mark of the black dragon or to seal away the power. Template: Reikai Tentai {Spirit Detective}; Former villain; Second in Command of Mukuro's armies. Talents and Powers: Hiei possesses a jagan or "evil eye" on his forehead which gives him psychic abilities and special sight. He also has great agility and speed and is an expert with swords and combat. He is skilled in the "battle field" and learns quickly....sometimes. He also has power of ningen {human} and makai {demon} fire. He is able to summon either to use in a battle. His most powerful attack is "Black Dragon Wave" which is what my subs call it, also called Jyaouensatsu Kokuryuha. Basically, it's an attack that cannot be used against himself. The "dragon" not only gives a mighty attack but can heal Hiei's wounds and re-energize him if he absorbs it back. The downside of the power is he must sleep for 6 hours after using it to regain his strength. Other powers are: Ensatsu Reigokushio where Hiei can shield his arms with flames and Jyaouensatsu Ken, a sword of fire. Hiei also can change into a "full-demon form." Or at least he calls it that in the American version. His skin turns green and he get some long claws. Several violet eyes open all over his body and work as amplifiers to the jagan, increasing his power. Hiei only takes this form as a last resort, as it takes the most youki and is when he is most powerful. But he is content to try everything to NOT take that form if he doesn't have to. I wonder why that is. Personality: Rather distant. He doesn't openly admit to wanting or having friends. He is, though he doesn't always show it, very caring and is loyal to his own strange form of honor code. Those who help him get his help in return. He has a strange sense of compassion which he masks with a number of excuses. Things like love and company tend to be things he pretends to know nothing about. He's illiterate to the Ningenkai in a vast way and tends to think most of those ningen things are a waste of time. However, he masks himself, as said, with a cold and cruel exterior. He lets off as trusting no one and having no strings attatched. He's a lone wolf type with his own agenda. Hiei isn't afraid to kill or fight and even hopes for the chance at times. He is, however, protective of his friends. In such a cases, he turns to bluffing to "threaten" them, although he's fond of his companions. His only fear that he indirectly mentioned was being Kurama's enemy. " I seek to be his friend because I do not want to be his enemy." As far as love goes, Hiei has a love for family, though he never lets it out in mushy emotional pools. He accepts who and what he is, but has a love and respect for his deceased mother. He also has a great sense of love and devotion to his baby twin sister, Yukina, who he often protects. He is also sentimental in a way, keeping and seeking the tear gem his mother gave to him as well as protecting the one Yukina gave him. Hiei is a semi-complicated character, who puts a lot of effort in keeping his personality in check and allowing very few to see what he's capable of in the teddy bear sense. However, his teammates know better and sometimes pick on him...indirectly of course. Indirect is, after all, what Hiei is good at. Relatives: Yukina {twin sister} About: Hiei is a "halfbreed." His mother was a koorime, or ice maiden/demon. His father, though never mentioned in the series is believed to be a fire demon. This guess comes from Hiei's ability to control fire instead of ice. Koorime do not mate with men and tend to reproduce among each other, baring only daughters. His mother, however, had mated with a male and "spawned" her offspring. Hiei was the first born and a shock to the entire clan. Yukina was born afterwards. Do to "clan morals" his mother was forced to give him up. A friend of hers was forced to throw him from the Island of Koorime to die in the harsh Makai below. His mother pleaded for such a thing to not happen and offered to leave the island with both of her children and raise them alone. This was refused and Hiei was handed over to be exiled. He was given one of his mother's tear gems...one she had cried for him. He was told to surive and to return to the Island of Koorime to take his revenge on the clan for his exile. His mother's dead, I don't think is clear enough. Some say she lived and died with that emptiness, even though she was allowed to keep Yukina. Same say she was killed by the clan for disobeying their code and sleeping with a man. I doubt that since they already said she was allowed to raise Yukina. Another theory is that she was so distraught over not being allowed to have her son that she killed herself, leaving Yukina to be raised by her best friend {who was the one who did the tossing of Hiei to the Makai}. Hiei was found by a band of thieves and raised by them. Theories of his molding have been suggested as well. Naturally being on the run and always having to fight for what was yours could make a person rather nasty. However, a few suggest Hiei was abused by his "elders" until he was finally able to fight back, which he did very cruely. Nevertheless, Hiei was able to grow up and develop into an A/S-class demon. I forget exactly. He had become so skilled and powerful that one day while returning to his group, they turned their back on him, perhaps in fear and distrust. Hiei took it as a sign that he was no longer welcome and simply left to become a lone wolf. He became a skilled thief and stronger fighter, losing his tear gem in one of the fights. Hiei returned to Koorime, seeking his "treasure" and his family. He had found that his mother was dead and at her grave mourned her friend, the woman who exiled him. He learned his sister had left the island in search of her brother and had not been seen since. To make a long story short, Hiei turned to leave only to be found out...that he was that exiled baby. He however had no interest in "taking revenge" and simply accepted that things happened that way because they had to be. His next item on the agenda: find Yukina. He met up with Shigure and demanded a jagan, making it clear he had no intention of paying for the dangerous, life-threatening operation. Shigure implanted the jagan, which was an excrutiatingly painful experience...and Hiei survived. The negative effect of the jagan was that it absorbed all of his youki, making him drop several classes. Shigure's price was Hiei's silence {to Yukina, says many sources}...and his most precious thing. Hiei searched for Yukina and met up with Kurama. To make a long story short, Hiei also met up with Yusuke and Kuwabara. Then, he was able to find and save Yukina. To his disapproval, Kuwabara had become very fond of Yukina. Yukina, being naive, makes it unclear if her feelings are exactly mutual, or if she simply likes him. Hiei despises the relationship but never makes any move or motion to keep her from what she wants. After the Sensui incident, Hiei returned to the Makai to serve under Mukuro, one of the three Makai Overlords {unbeknownst at the time that Mukuro was a woman}. He became second in command after defeating...da da da...Shigure. Hiei mentions openly to Mukuro that if push came to shove, he'd protect Yusuke over her, being closer to him than herself. However, he does have a strange relationship with her. Some say love, some say hate, some say friendship. I believe he'd indifferent on the most part, seenig as how his interaction with women is a little quirky than with men. He frees her bonds and obviously has enough trust in her to sleep in her arms. Quote{s}: " Hn." " Finger games? What's that? ....Hn...Kudaran!" " You already know my sister's name." " Baka." Why I like him: I, to be honest, didn't like Hiei at first. I was a big Kurama fan, but Hiei just kinda grows on you. He just so cute and amusing and so...naive to ningen things. I dunno, now he is my most favorite character in the series. He just has this cute little face and these big adorable eyes. LOL. And he keeps sentences short, simple, and easy to understand. Maybe it's the " I don't care about anything or anyone" expressions that make him so attractive. You know girls always go for the bishounen that could care less. =shrugs= I mean, really, look at that pic below and tell me he doesn't look like a cat wanting to go out. LOL. Back
