This episode starts out with Dib and Gaz watching TV. Professor Membrane is about to make the greatest announcment he's made since last week. Dib says they might finally be able to see him in person, but a video reminder told Dib to brush is teeth and not steal, and telling Gaz to feed the puppy. They just remembered they used to have one.
At Skool, everyone is gather in the auditorium to watch Professor Membrane's big announcment. Dib tells Torque that's his dad, and he says so and eat's on of Professor Membrane's creations, super toast, and gets pumped up. Professor Membrane says they all know that every power source runs off of fuel, so he got to thinking, why hasn't anyone made a power source that doesn't run off of fuel, so he made the Perpetual Energy Generator, or PEG, and tonight he was going to activate it. He said if it works, they will never have to worry about power again, but if it doesn't, it will send a wave of doom that will destroy all life on Earth, and Zim listens eagerly to this. A flying TV thing comes up to Dib and Gaz and tells them that the professor wants them at the turning on of PEG, and to be there at seven. Zim hears this and gets an idea.
At home, Dib runs upstairs to go to his lab, when he hears someone in his bed, moaning. Dib goes to his bed and pulls the covers off, revealing another Dib. The Dib in the bed tells real Dib that Zim broke into the compound and into the generator. He tells him that he tried to stop him, but his incredible power was too much for him, and he undid the security system, and PEG put off some kind of energy, but the energy made some kind of space-time ray, and he found himself in an energy thingy, and the rift dropped him in the past, giving him a second chance, but he's so weak from the fight, and it's up to him. Future Dib gives real Dib a watch, and says they can communicate through it. Real Dib said that they will be an unstoppable team. Future Dib told him that Zim is in the compound warehouse, where there is a broken window above a stack of crates. Dib makes it into the warehouse, and Future Dib tells him that he is going to drill into the compound, and all's he has to do is sabatoge the drill. Dib makes it to the center where there is a giant drill above him, and he presses the button. He looks at his watch, and sees that the Zim laughing is actually the future Dib, and lawn gnomes surround Dib, capturing him and throwing him into a cage. Zim comes on a screen and tells him that he knew he could trick him with the Dib robot spy. Dib asks him if he's going to use the robot to get past security and destroy the generater, and Zim said yes. Dib told him that if he destroys the generator, he'll be destroyed too, and Zim told him that he's controlling robo-dib from Earth's orbit, and whenever PEG explodes, he'll be thousands of miles away. Gaz comes into Dib's room and tells robo-dib that they are leaving, and if he does anything weird tonight, he'll suffer horribly. Zim makes the robo-dib say that he obeys, and Gaz walks out, and robo-dib turns off the watch. Real Dib uses a hacking probe on the TV screen.
Gaz and robo-dib make it to where PEG is, and Gaz says that he's acting weirder than normal, and robo-dib says that he has no idea what she's talking about, and says there's aliens and big foot and runs off. Professor Membrane comes up to Gaz and says that he's glad those two could make it, and goes crazy and asks where Dib was. She tells him that he went running after Bigfoot, and he told her to watch him and make sure he doesn't do anything embarassing. Robo-dib makes it into PEG.
Real Dib is robo-dib's progress form his computer, and he says he's got get controll of it. Zim comes on and tells him that won't be likely, and he won't get past his lockout programs. Dib tells him that he's already getting through the vocal circuits, and Zim yells about the lockout programs, and tells GIR to unleash the monkey. A monkey makes it into Dib's cage, and the computer askes if he wants to access the vocal circuit, but before Dib can press anything, the monkey slaps Dib's hand away.
In PEG, robo-dib is about to mess with it, but Gaz comes in and asks what he's doing. He couldn't reply because Professor Membrane was being introduced. Professor Membrane is about to introduce Gaz and Dib, but they aren't there, so he starts PEG's warm-up procedure while they wait. Robo-dib tells Gaz that he doen't think very well, and he'd rather watch PEG from down there. Gaz said fine, and there's probably less of a chance that he can do anything stupid while he's down there. Real Dib is still givin the chance to over-ride the vocal circuit, and he tricks the monkey so he can press yes. Dib tells Gaz that it's a trap, and Zim starts making robo-dib beat himself up, while Dib is screaming to get the monkey off of him. Gaz get's mad and starts running for robo-dib, but he jumps on one of the rotating things on PEG, while Dib is still being beat up by the monkey. Professor Membrane is waiting for the kids to get there, when one of the people in the audiance asked where the power was and if that thing even worked, and threw him ice cream at the thing. Robo-dib makes it to a certain place, but Gaz is waiting there. She chokes him, while real Dib tells him that that's actually a robot, and he's at a warehouse, holding a monkey down, when the robots eye pops out, and lands next to Professor Membrane. He thought it was a joke, a nasty one, and said that they aren't going to get any power, and he closed PEG down. In space, GIR said that his robot boy is broken, and Zim said lets go watch the monkey. Gaz sees that it is a robot.
At Dib's house, she makes the robot into his slave, while the real Dib is being beat up by the monkey, and Zim and GIR are sitting on the couch with popcorn watching it, laughing.
