PROLOGUE
With eyes inflamed, the knowledge rages weighted wings and brings me downward. Black fire spasms through the vastness preying down upon me until we are one. My beautiful wings, no burnt offerings to a naive past, stretch like liquid leather beating tightly, becoming the fuel of some other form of life. Once I soared near godhood, now I have fallen. Emotion is the box which contains our knowledge. I have learned too much and it has broken free.
A fixed point in space opened up. Two events separated by context of comprehension collided. There are connections between seemingly unrelated events in separate realities. Self awareness grows becoming increasingly more difficult to balance. I feel all that I know.
TIMELINE
1996: The Angel I is launched; destination Mars. Several regions, including the Cydonia, were re-photographed. Clearer pyramid images cause renewed speculation about the possibility of life on Mars.
1997: 17 minutes and 23 seconds after touchdown, Angel II disappears. Transmission abruptly stops.
1998: Angel III locates and retrieves the missing Mars probe from the planet surface. The failure was caused by faulty logic circuitry. No further evidence for life is found. Political winds shift and the project is put on hold.
2003: The Angel IV, a prototype which uses an organic bio-neural network as part of its DPU (distributed processor unit), is launched. On July 4, 2003 at 6:03 A.M. the probe disappears while orbiting the away side of Mars. 7 hours later the probe reappeared and transmitted 14 individual radio telemetries. Upon completion the probe inexplicably exploded.
